Gotham Knights May Be Getting A Possible DLC Update

Recent SteamDB changelogs lead to fan speculation.

A major update might be on the way for WB‘s Gotham Knights. This is due to the recent changelogs that the game has been receiving on SteamDB, with the most recent ones being from July 26, 2023. The data has led to fans speculating about possible DLC content for the live service game based on the iconic characters of DC Comics.

Approximately a month after Gotham Knights hit the shelves, modders discovered a change in the game files. This change happened to be the switching of Batman’s files and being placed in the Player Recipes section along with other playable characters. This led to the community speculating if they would be able to as the world’s famous detective given the change in the game’s data.

These changelogs have rekindled the DLC debate once more as players hope for some kind of bonus story content with a playable Batman. Gotham Knights‘ final act also lends some credence to fan speculation given that Bruce Wayne sacrificed himself by ramming the Batwing into the Lazarus Pit. Fans have expressed that while it would be a bad move to bring Batman back, they would still be interested in seeing something of that nature.

Gotham Knights launched last year on October 21 and was met with an average response from critics and players alike. Much of the criticism was directed toward its confusing UI, repetitive and lackluster combat, and lack of stealth options. Additionally, its visuals were criticized after being compared to Arkham Knight, citing that the latter was released in 2015 and still seems more impressive than most modern games.

Furthermore, Gotham Knights failed to impress the larger community due to the long wait time after Arkham Knight and due to its live service nature. At the moment, there has been no official update regarding an upcoming update but fans are speculating that something might be heading their way in the future.
