- Guilty Gear Xrd Rev-2 officially receives a rollback netcode update on Steam.
- The update went live on January 20, 2023.
- The rollback netcode update is also compatible with Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-.
Guilty Gear Xrd Rev-2 finally received the highly anticipated rollback update six years after its release in December 2016. The rollback netcode update is also compatible with Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-.
The update comes after Arc System Works conducted a beta test for Guilty Gear Xrd’s rollback netcode implementation in October 2022. The announcement of the game finally receiving a rollback update after years brought many players back to the old game.
However, once the beta test was successfully over, the game returned to how it used to be. Several months have passed since then, and Arc System Works have officially released the rollback netcode update for Guilty Gear Xrd.
Guilty Gear Xrd Rev-2 is the twenty-fourth installment in the long-running Guilty Gear series. The game is updated title to Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- which came out in 2014.
Additionally, the latest installment in the Guilty Gear franchise, Guilty Gear -STRIVE- already features a rollback netcode since its launch in 2021.
Fans were desperately waiting for Guilty Gear Xrd’s rollback update as the game was quite unplayable online without it. Rollback netcode’s official implementation allows players from remote locations to compete together without experiencing massive delays in online matchmaking.

It is important to note that this rollback update is only implemented on the Steam version of the game. The PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions of Guilty Gear Xrd have not implemented the rollback netcode update.
The game is also currently available at a discounted price on Steam due to the “Lunar New Year Sale,” along with several other titles from Arc System Works. Fans, who do not already own, the game can buy it at 50% price.
