Hogwarts Legacy Ultra+ Mod Adds Global Illumination, Ray Traced Shadows, And More

If you’re still playing Hogwarts Legacy on your PC, boy do I have some good news for you! The Ultra Plus Ultimate Visual and Performance mod, developed by “SammiLucia” has drastically improved the visual fidelity of the game. The mod adds graphical features such as Global Illumination, and Ray Traced Shadows and aims to have “higher than cut-scene visuals for the whole game.” 

The mod also improves Hogwarts Legacy’s lackluster performance on PC by reducing memory usage and fixing the texture streaming in order to prevent frequent stutters during gameplay. Not only the stutters, the mod claims to fix all of Hogwarts Legacy’s performance problems, enough to make it “playable even on lower-end PCs” which is honestly kind of impressive for a game of this fidelity. 

The description for the mod reads, “The ultimate visual mod – adds global illumination, raytraced water, and better graphics for the whole game. Fixes texture loading, and blurriness, disables Chroma DLL, and increases view distance and LODs. Even works on lower-end PCs.” 

Hogwarts Legacy launched earlier this year to critical acclaim from both players and critics. It received heavy praise for its faithful and gorgeous rendition of the world of the Harry Potter books, as well as its magic-based third-person combat. The biggest points of criticism against the game were its lackluster story and formulaic open world. It was also a massive commercial success, surpassing its publisher WB’s expectations by 256%.
