“We are aware that the stolen data includes personal information belonging to our employees, former employees, and independent contractors. It also includes early development details about Marvel’s Wolverine for PlayStation 5. We continue working quickly to determine what data was impacted” says Insomniac on the data breach.
Lastly, the developers state that they will continue working on the game as planned. Any information regarding the PS5 exclusive will be shared with the fans officially when the “time is right.” The hackers have reported leaking around 98% of the data they stole from Insomniac and demanded a 50 Bitcoin ransom, which is worth roughly $2 million.
When the ransom was not paid, around 1.67 TB of data was released. The data included several videos of Marvel’s Wolverine along with personal information of the employee staff. Insomniac’s latest venture is set to release on PlayStation 5, with the release date yet to be disclosed.
