- The developer of the game, Mike Booth, has just revealed that he’s working toward a new project.
- The project is a 4-player multiplayer shooter, similar to the roots of the iconic Left 4 Dead series.
Any FPS fan who’s been playing for a while now must absolutely be acquainted with the legendary Left 4 Dead franchise. That’s how big this name is in the industry. The last iteration in the series, Left 4 Dead 2, came out almost two decades ago, and fans have been longing for a successor of some sort ever since. Fortunately enough, this might finally be happening.
The creator of the well-renowned series and founder of developer studio Turtle Rock Studios, Mike Booth, took to Reddit to announce that he’s working on a brand-new project in the same vein as Left 4 Dead. He said,
I’m excited to share that I’m working on a brand new project —a 4-player co-op shooter built on the foundations of what made L4D special.
If you enjoyed the teamwork, tension, and replayability of my past games, you’ll probably find this one interesting. It expands on the co-op formula in ways I’ve wanted to explore for a long time.”
Booth now spearheads Bad Robot Games as Chief Creative Officer, which is otherwise a movie- and TV-focused production company. A prominent highlight of Bad Robot’s video game endeavors includes Silent Hill: Ascension—an interactive mobile game based on the famous Silent Hill series.
Playtests For The New Project Are Open

Mike’s latest project is still in its infant stage, but he has green-lit playtests for users across the globe. That way, players can try it out and respond with feedback for the project. The invite link was pasted in the aforementioned Reddit post, and you can join the early playtest waitlist right away.
We’re still in the early stages of development, but we’re opening up playtests to a limited number of players. If you’re interested in joining us on this next adventure and helping shape the game early on, we’d love to have you involved.”
The prospect is certainly enticing, and a major announcement for passionate Left 4 Dead fans who have been craving a new adventure all these years. Mike’s expertise, experience, and talent are undoubtedly what make this entire venture seem promising, and we’re quite excited for what the future holds.
