Valve has released a new patch for Counter-Strike 2 to resolve the exploit on the Overpass map in addition to addressing various other issues. According to the patch notes, the clipping has been adjusted to remove exploitable ledges and enhance player movement. Additionally, metal railing props that were generating incorrect footstep sounds have been corrected.

Other aspects of the map have also been tweaked in this update for Counter-Strike 2. Positions of ledges and elements have been changed to be more in line with fall damage from CS: Global Offensive. Areas in Overpass where players could get stuck have also been fixed along with the adjustments to materials which aims to improve character readability.

Furthermore, cases where weapons could accidentally be dropped out of reach were resolved. Beyond these adjustments, factors that allowed the creation of exploitable lines of sight were ironed out along with general improvements to lighting and materials on Overpass. Grenade clipping on the Ancient map has also been rectified as of this update for Counter-Strike 2.

Moving on to gameplay, the update adds “shell eject” effects for shotguns. Along with that, adjustments have been implemented so that dropped weapons from the “buy menu” fall below the buyer instead of other places or at a distance.

Various miscellaneous fixes and additions have also been rolled out for CS2 in this patch, The additions include a new 2024 Service Medal that’ll be available from January 1, the ability to add a friend via their friend code, and a lister for multiple lobby invitations. Lastly, issues such as exploits that allowed the addition of non-text data have been rectified.
