New Counter-Strike 2 Update Adds Vote-Kick Immunity For Solo Players And More

Valve has launched yet another incremental but satisfying update for Counter-Strike 2 this time around. It has caught the gaze of many in the community because the devs finally have added some protection for solo players against bad actors that can possibly vote-kick them. These solo players would be immune to the vote-kick problem from now on. The patch notes also touch on many other needed improvements.

A bug that was affecting jump height if a key would be pressed mid-jump was fixed for consistency. Many other glitches have been targeted in the huge Counter-Strike 2 update. The jump land sound will now also have the same max audible distance as footstep sounds. The other audio fixes include:

The effects have also massively improved. The blood effects at close range will have improved performance, and the strength of the kill streak HUD effect after five kills has been reduced.

The visual and audio feedback from the sub-tick input will now always render on the next frame. It includes movement acceleration and muzzle flashes. The Wingman mode will support workshop maps now. Also, expect a better quality of “Performance” HDR rendering mode. A bench causing users to clip in the Palace on the Mirage map has been fixed too. The height of the box on the A side was also adjusted in the map to match CS: GO.

The prominent transition into Counter-Strike 2 retains the olden CS: GO features but improves upon the overall experience with a tinge of modernity in visuals and performance alike. CS2’s release on other platforms seems unlikely right now, but a past datamine leak has teased that it could come out on mobiles as well.

Counter-Strike 2 settled with a decent reception on September 27, 2023. eXputer’s Asad Ahmed reviewed it with a score of 3.5/5, calling it “a game that undermines Valve’s reputation.” Despite the bugs, the title is also missing maps, modes, broken animations, and more. So, some of the fans were disappointed as the original entry got replaced.
