Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Added Back The Nelson & Murdock Sign

Fans speculate about the appearance of Daredevil due to vague comments and Easter eggs.

Story Highlights

  • The Nelson & Murdock sign has been re-added to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in the latest patch.
  • Due to comments from Bryan Intihar, Tony Todd, and Nadji Jeter, fans are speculating that something huge involving Daredevil & Venom is in the works.
  • Despite the game’s exponential success, there’s been no announcement of a DLC. Players believe it will focus heavily on Carnage, warranting a proper expansion.

Following the release of its latest patch, players have discovered that Nelson and Murdock’s sign was restored in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The rumor mill for this sequel continues to work overtime as speculation continues about the addition of iconic Marvel characters, the return of Venom, the inevitable DLC, and more.

What’s worth noting here is that these speculations aren’t baseless. With regards to Daredevil, aside from the various hints and easter eggs available in-game, Bryan Intihar himself has made a statement. In an episode of IGN’s podcast, he was asked about the disappearance of the sign outside of Nelson & Murdock’s office. In response, Intihar said, “Stay tuned” leading fans to believe that there is something in the works over at Insomniac Games

Another element that lends some credence to these speculations is the existence of a particular bookstore in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 that can be entered. Inside, players will find a peculiar symbol with weapon racks and swords in a room beside the store. While the symbol itself doesn’t resemble any known icons, people believe that it may be hinting at The Hand despite there being no resemblance whatsoever.

On the other hand, the symbol’s design looks to be more on the occult side, similar to the pentagram on Daimon Hellstrom’s chest. For the uninitiated, Daimon is the Son of Satan in Marvel comics who opposes his father’s evil despite his heritage. While this may seem unrelated, Hellstrom is connected to magic and Doctor Strange—both of which have been confirmed in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Furthermore, the likes of Daimon & Doctor Strange are involved with demons like Mephisto who is known to make deals with various people in the Marvel universe. Fans of the wall-crawler may remember the controversial “One More Day” comic story that revolved around a pact that rebooted all of Spider-Man’s experiences. While there’s no room for that event to occur since the game is an Insomniac original, incorporating supernatural elements isn’t out of the picture.

Moving on to the Symbiotes, Tony Todd and Nadji Jeter have previously stated that they along with Yuri Lowenthal are working on a project that’s going to land sometime in 2024. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 YouTuber, Evan Filarca, posted a video discussing these comments. You can check it out at 8:54 below.

It’s yet to be seen whether this is a DLC or a Venom spin-off game due to Insomniac’s previous comment. People are speculating that the significance of Carnage along with the lack of any post-launch content announcement may hint towards a full-length expansion. At this point, however, we would advise you to take these details at face value and keep your expectations tempered.

In the meantime, consider mastering the traversal system in an expanded New York with the best swinging settings in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Once you get the hang of it, prepare for the inevitable post-launch content by finding the 18 best easter eggs hidden throughout the city.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launched on October 20, 2023, exclusively for the PlayStation 5. Read our review to find out why it’s a cut above its predecessor.
