After a long wait, Payday 3 devs have finally released the 1.0.2 update that sees the return of two popular heists from Payday 2. The new heists have been reimagined from the ground up with slight changes from their Payday 2 counterparts. The two heists are Cook Off and Turbid Station (formerly named Murky Station), both of which ranked fairly high in the last entry. The update also adds new animations, a slew of improvements, and bug fixes.
The new first-person animations will let players inspect their weapons and gloves by choosing the options in the context wheel. The Transporter Skill line, on the other hand, will let players carry bodies, loot, or equipment much faster than before, even allowing two bags at once. The Under Wraps mask and the Compact7 Lycan preset weapons were also added in the new Payday 3 update.
A lobby chat for PC players is also now available. The devs are looking into implementing one for consoles as well, but it will take time. The patch also adds Level Cap Rewards, allowing users to gain rewards who hit a certain cap. “When hitting a new renown level, you’ll be rewarded with consumable items that will be dropped for each renown level.” Many skills have been rebalanced, and AI crew mates now have a 300% health boost.

The first-person shooter came out on 21 September 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. eXputer’s Asad Ahmed called it a “disappointing sequel” in his review for a myriad of reasons, giving it a score of 2.5/5. The game was praised for compelling gunfights, deep customization, great visuals, and a fun loop. It was criticized for a lack of QoL features, a grind-heavy approach, lousy AI, performance issues, and much more.
