It’s rare to see franchises in our entertainment industry that are successful in every medium. But there are a few of them, and probably the biggest among these anomalies is Pokémon. Starting as a game series, the brand has since taken over the planet in merchandise, movies, TV shows, and video game sales.
We all know how successful the mainline releases are; take Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s success as an example. However, the biggest phenomenon in the gaming sector of the franchise is Pokémon Go, which continues to grow 7 years on. Now, the game is adding one of the most wanted Pokémon to the mobile game in the form of Kecleon.
Major Takeaways
- Kecleon is going to be available in Pokémon Go following the January Community Day.
- The Pokémon will appear at rare PokéStops and will be transparent.
- You can move it around to view it, which results in it spinning off the disc and hence lets you catch it.
Pokémon news aggregator Leek Duck broke this wonderful news. In a Tweet from his account, the aggregator said that Kecleon will arrive in Pokémon Go after Chespin Community Day. This event is the community day for January, and we’ll get Kecleon after it.
But, this is not all as the Pokémon comes with certain conditions to the game. Kecleon will appear rarely at PokéStops in Pokémon Go according to Leek Duck. Trainers will also be unable to spin the creature, which lines up with what we already know.
It appears that Kecleon will make its debut after Chespin Community Day.

This news comes after players reported certain PokéStops were not spinning and allowing them to redeem items. An image was present on these PokéStops which revealed to us a transparent Kecleon. Players were unable to redeem the goods as a message said “an object prevents you from collecting these items.”
After moving the Kecleon on the image for a bit, it becomes visible to the players. This will result in the green creature jumping off the disc and coming to encounter you in the world. Hence, you can finally capture one of the best items not available in Pokémon Go for a long time.
You can see in the video from MasterWarlord01 that this is exactly how the encounter proceeds. Leek Duck reported the same thing after you can spin the PokéStop, the Kecleon will appear in front of you. Therefore, it will happen rarely, but it is worth it for this Hoenn Dex Pokémon.

Previous rumors had told u that Kecleon will be coming to Pokémon Go by Hoenn Tour. So, seeing it coming into the game earlier than expected is certainly a surprise. It is very random, but at least we can catch this long-awaited Pokémon now.
Kecleon will be available at its rare PokéStops after January 7, the Chespin Community Day. It is the last species from the Hoenn Pokédex not available in Pokémon Go. To see it finally come into the mobile AR game is great news for the fans.
Niantic has also done well to implement the unique abilities the Pokémon has. All in all, this entry of Kecleon in Pokémon Go has been well done, and Niantic has kept its promise. Hopefully, we can catch and train Kecleon very soon.
