The Resident Evil 4 remake could possibly be getting the popular Separate Ways DLC in the future. A recent datamine attempt by the leaker Gosetsu has unveiled references to the alluring expansion, as stated on Twitter by Resident Evil Central. The game’s install file directly says the name of the DLC in a folder, hinting towards its awaited arrival in the future alongside folders the Chainsaw demo and the Mercenaries mode folders.

Note: The article contains minor spoilers regarding the Separate Ways DLC; trek ahead carefully.

The folder “_anotherorder” is a direct reference to the Japanese name of the extra game mode. The DLC has been remembered as “Separate Ways” in the West after Resident Evil 4 was translated into English, and the folder hints towards the future addition of the game mode. The Mercenaries mode was confirmed to arrive in the Resident Evil 4 remake even before its launch, and it is slated to leeway into the entry on April 7th.

Another hint for the DLC can be found while playing the Resident Evil 4 remake. At one point during the gameplay, Leon Kennedy tells Ada that they need to walk their “separate ways,” which aligns with the current rumor to complete an eclipse. Moreover, certain areas in the remake are inaccessible to Leon Kennedy, just like in the main game. It is suspected that Ada in the Separate Ways DLC can access the areas.

Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways DLC features the journey of Ada throughout the game. The character only appears a few times in the entry, and the extra game mode details more regarding her character, revealing her activities in the game from her perspective. Ada first appeared in Resident Evil 2, and she has been among the most favorite characters in the franchise.

The Separate Ways DLC has not officially been confirmed or announced, unlike the Mercenaries mode and the VR DLC for the PlayStation VR 2. It also remains unclear whether the DLC will be paid or free. Regardless, it could also be in the development stage behind the curtains, and the developers may reveal it officially in the future. We suggest taking the prospect of a new DLC with a grain of salt, despite the credibility of datamines.

Fans have reacted quite positively to the datamine, as many are excited to play as Ada in the rumored DLC. In other good news, it was only recently discovered that the initial village fight can be completely skipped with a single gunshot.

The Resident Evil 4 remake is the latest iteration in the franchise, setting a new standard for the horror genre with its modern refurbishment of the original classic. The entry has been highly well-received by both old and new players alike. Nevertheless, if playing the modern iteration of the game is not enough, you can use the power of mods to enjoy the horror venture as CJ.

The remake of the prominent horror experience was released on March 24, 2023, on both the last and next-gen platforms. It can be played right now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.
