Rumor: All Major Xbox Games, Including Fable & Gears, Are In Development For The PS5/PS5 Pro

Talk about the whole slate.

Story Highlights

  • According to a new rumor, all major Xbox games are headed to PlayStation consoles down the road.
  • The Xbox IPs that are in active development for the PS5 and PS5 include Fable and Gears of War.
  • If the rumor is true, Xbox execs will kill off any and all exclusivity factors for the Xbox platform as a whole.

We already know that Xbox now intends to release certain first-party games, such as Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, on other platforms, but no one realized that the company plans to pursue this model as prolifically as possible. According to a new rumor that comes from a reliable industry insider THE MAGG, major Xbox titles, both existing and forthcoming, are in development for the PS5 and PS5 Pro.

Appearing in a podcast episode of the MM2K Gaming News channel, THE MAGG has reason to believe that even a new Halo game is under development for PlayStation consoles, and could even come to the PS5, depending on the development cycle of the shooter.

The insider name-drops a range of different first-party Xbox titles, some of which come across as absolutely bewildering to me. Gears of War: E-Day’s development, however, is allegedly coinciding with the development of the title’s PlayStation version. On the flip side, this possibly puts up the title for a potential day and date release on the PS5 and PS5 Pro.

Now, here’s the ones you didn’t know. Avowed is currently being worked on for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. Blade, Perfect Dark, Fable, and Gears of War: E-Day will [all] be coming [as well].”

To think about this development for a minute, Avowed’s delay did feel a tad too strange at the time, considering that the game was fully complete. The new rumor sure puts things into a different perspective, one that I’m sure PlayStation fans will be quite happy to watch unfolding.

The PlayStation 5 Pro Comes Out In November

The PlayStation 5 Pro is scheduled to be released early next year, coming with a number of upgrades over its predecessor in the name of enhanced AI-upscaling, faster memory, and better rendering. As of right now, numerous PS5 Pro Enhanced games have come forward, including God of War Ragnarok and Lies of P, and many more will follow.

What do you think about the PS5 Pro getting its hands on all major Xbox titles? Do let me know in the comments ahead.
