Sasha Grey To Voice New Radio Station In Cyberpunk 2077

The internet celebrity confirmed on Twitter.

Cyberpunk 2077 has been making strides in recent times, garnering more than 100,000 concurrent players on Steam not long ago and the developer finally celebrating 20 million Night City dwellers in total too. Given the concept of the title and its profound gameplay mechanics, news such as this was long coming.

Moreover, new DLC stuff — the Phantom Liberty — was announced for the CDPR’s now-succeeding RPG after it managed to leak earlier this year. Cyberpunk 2077’s popularity has appeared to skyrocket lately and the developers have made another effort to make sure things stay that way.

The Rundown:

  • Cyberpunk 2077‘s major DLC expansion — Phantom Liberty — is all set to introduce a new radio station to Night City called 89.7 Growl FM.
  • Sasha Grey—popular Twitch streamer and social media celebrity—has officially retweeted Cyberpunk 2077’s original post saying that she, in fact, will be voicing Ash.
  • The DLC expansion is bound to make landfall next year with no exact release date given by the developers just yet.

Among other things coming up hot in the Phantom Liberty DLC expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, such as Keanu Reeves reprising his role as V and a novel take on spy-thriller action in a never-before-seen area of Night City, there’s a new radio station that will feature itself in the new playable add-on for the RPG.

The cherry on top is the radio jockey of the new 89.7 Growl FM radio station—Sasha Grey. The popular Twitch streamer took to Twitter to make the big announcement, thereby confirming that she’ll be the voice of Ash in the Phantom Liberty DLC expansion.

The best part is that this isn’t going to be Sasha’s first rodeo as a voiceover artist. She’s previously done the voice of Viola DeWynter from Saints Row: The Third and was even featured in the “Full Package” DLC trailer for the game.

Critics seem to conform to her energetic voice and it seems that she’s managed to grab the role of a secondary figure in a quality AAA game. Sasha Grey has risen up the ranks on Twitch, amassing more than 1 million followers on the famous streaming platform.

Furthermore, Grey voicing Ash as a radio jockey in a new Cyberpunk 2077 radio station isn’t the only highlight of what we have here. The developer — CD Projekt Red — is trying its best to engage the community as much as it can, offering talented artists a chance to create a banger new track and get it to feature in Phantom Liberty.

That is to say, CDPR is holding a music contest and is looking for about 12-15 music tracks to be included in 89.7 FM. Stating on the official Cyberpunk handle, the devs say,

We’re looking for fresh music to feature in our new community radio station Growl FM — coming in the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty expansion!”

There is a certain set of rules that you have to follow in case you decide to sign up. For one, the track needs to be between 2-3 minutes long and you have to make sure that you’re not using someone else’s work.

Winners are set to earn a whole swath of rewards, including 3000 USD and a bag full of Cyberpunk 2077 goodies. For enthusiasts, however, the biggest gift would be to get their track to be a part of the idiosyncratic RPG. So, do you think you’ll be shooting your shot at the contens? Let us know in the comments section ahead.

Oh, speaking of Sasha Grey and her being the new voiceover artist for Cyberpunk 2077, are you aware of the current controversy surrounding Bayonetta’s ex-voice actress asking fans to boycott Bayonetta 3? It sure is an eye-opening scenario, to put it lightly.
