- Only Lee Chaolan and Devil Jin have yet to receive their gameplay trailers before Tekken 8’s release date.
Bandai Namco has revealed Zafina’s gameplay trailer for the upcoming Tekken 8. Judging from the trailer, Zafina is likely just as elusive as she was in Tekken 7, if not more. The trailer also highlights Zafina’s waning control over Azazel as she can barely manage to keep the evil in check. With Zafina’s gameplay trailer out of the way, there are only two characters left from the launch roster that haven’t received a trailer yet: Lee Chaolan and Devil Jin.
Zafina’s gameplay trailer showcased her evasiveness. The character has a lot of evasive moves that keep the opponents on their toes. Paired with her insane movement, Zafina can be a really difficult character to catch. In Tekken 8, where aggressiveness is highly favored, Zafina has all the right defensive tools to ensure her victory in the right hands.
The latest character reveal trailer also highlights Azazel’s prowess. It can be seen that Zafina is having a fair amount of trouble keeping Azazel’s power in check. Note that according to the lore, Zafina had absorbed Azazel in her left arm in order to seal it. Her left arm can be seen reacting to Claudio‘s presence, an exorcist who had helped Zafina seal the evil in the past.

It’s clear that Zafina is losing control of Azazel, albeit slowly. However, that has also given her access to a lot of powerful moves, as shown in the trailer. Even her Rage Art, the special move that becomes available when the character has low health in Tekken 8, showcases the power of Azazel as she summons his gigantic left arm to crush the opponent.
Tekken 8 is set to launch on January 26 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PC. The demo is currently available to play on all platforms for free. So far, Bandai Namco has released a character trailer for everyone from the launch roster, with the exception of Devil Jin and Lee Chaolan. We’ll likely see their trailer drop soon as the release date approaches.
