Total War: Warhammer 3’s Beefy New Patch Adds Respec Feature

Expect a bevy of performance, stability, gameplay, and other changes.

Story Highlights

  • Total War: Warhammer 3 is a turn-based RPG with a focus on real-time tactics gameplay as well.
  • The game’s new patch is heavily concentrated and brings a swath of new changes to the game.
  • Among the latest additions is the long-requested ability to respec your traits in-game.

Total War: Warhammer 3 is a renowned strategy game with a strong focus on gameplay depth, quality of life features, and customization. The game has been received well so far, given how it was released early last year, with Creative Assembly ensuring that the RPG continues to receive patches and improvements to retain user interest. As such, the new update 4.1 has finally brought the “respec” feature.

Addressing the player base of the game in a new forum post, the developer says, “After three new Legendary faction leaders arrived in Total War: Warhammer III with Update 4.0 and Shadows of Change, we’ve been hard at work to bring out a steady stream of fixes and adjustments in the build-up to Patch 4.1.” In doing so, we’ve got a slew of new changes to the game, and fans are chuffed.

Quite likely the most anticipated change introduced in the wake of Total War: Warhammer 3’s update 4.1 that has players delighted is the skill point reset functionality, otherwise simply called “respec.” For those not in the know, to respec your character is to reallocate all of the skill points that have gone into developing it. This makes for variation in builds and playstyles, making the gameplay more mixed up.

As iterated earlier, this is one of the most expansive updates that Total War: Warhammer has received up until now, so you’d likely want to refer to the entire blog post for all the info—even the minute details. That said, another spotlight feature worth touching on apart from skill point reset is the improved Settlement and Siege Battle aspect of the RPG, through the addition of more depth to the gameplay.

In other news, fans are having a field day with a bug that has arrived in the wake of the new update. An Ogre Tyrant in the game going by the name of Greasus Goldtooth has seemingly upscaled his speed to new heights, thereby rampaging through the battlefield in an all-new fashion. His movement speed has been increased by almost 10 times, leading to a beautiful, take-no-prisoners assault on enemy troops.
