World of Warcraft’s most recent hotfix was released on October 2, bringing several bug fixes surrounding enemies, NPCs, and Wrath Classic. The update also brought a few changes to the hardcore realms, like the inability to use mind control spells during normal duels and an identifier that shows player class and level on hover-over when challenged to a duel to the death.

The update appears to be relatively small, which is unsurprising as it is a hotfix, but still, it tackles several issues regarding various aspects of the game. First off, several of the enemies or creatures on Mechagon Island have been scaled down so that they don’t pose too much of a threat to lower-level players. Bragdur Battlebrew offers the Horde version of the “Brew of the Month” Club Membership Form, as initially intended.

A bug that caused Lord Andestrasz to be found in Waking Shores and be invisible to some players has been fixed. Moreover, the update has also brought some changes to the hardcore realms. Players can no longer use mind control spells during normal duels. It should be noted that there has been no change to duels on non-hardcore realms, and it doesn’t prevent players from using such spells during Mak’gora duels to death.

An identifier has also been added in the hardcore realms that, when hovering over, will show players the class and level of another they have challenged to a duel to the death. Lastly, the update has fixed a bug that unintentionally caused the Joyous Journeys bonus to disappear. Although a minor update, it significantly impacts some aspects of the game.

Aside from the frequent updates, it seems like World of Warcraft is planning something huge for players. A recent leak revealed that players will be gifted the Algarian Stormrider mount upon purchasing the Heroic edition of the 11.0 expansion bundle. Since mounts are usually linked to the expansion’s central theme, this could mean that the upcoming expansion will focus on Dwarves and the secrets of Khaz Algar.
