Metroid Dread is the upcoming instalment to the Metroid franchise from MercurySteam, being released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. Also known as Metroid 5, the game is an action-adventure game and a sequel to the 2002 game, Metroid Fusion — released for the Game Boy Advance, Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS. It has been more than 3 years since the franchise has released a new Metroid game, which is why fanatics of the series are anxious for the release of the upcoming instalment.
Earlier this week, GameStop sent out e-mails to its customers in which it released its top ten most pre-ordered Nintendo Switch games and Metroid Dread is at the top. Surprisingly, the game has surpassed all of the upcoming Pokémon instalments — Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl Double Pack and Pokémon Legends: Arceus. It has also surpassed the upcoming Mario Party Superstars — a franchise that has been one of Nintendo’s top sellers for decades.
