Story Highlights
- The Game Awards is inarguably the biggest video game event in the industry, giving birth to new titles.
- The upcoming event is rumored to feature a couple of high-firing announcements, as per a source.
- The games that come to mind include a new Bloodborne title, or Hollow Knight: Silksong.
The Game Awards is lurking right around the corner, and I couldn’t be more excited for it, especially after hearing what known industry insider and journalist Jason Schreier has to say about it. Appearing on today’s episode of the Kinda Funny Games podcast, Schreier has reason to believe that The Game Awards this time around is going to blow your socks off.
Skip to 35:20 in the following video to catch Jason in action.
Commenting on the nature of the event, Jason said,
I mean, yeah, there are like at least two things that will make you guys reacting be like, ‘Holy ****! I can’t believe this thing is here.’ At least two things.”
Now this, of course, really gets one thinking. There are so many IPs out there that come to mind when one thinks of a new game announcement in an event like this.
At the top of the list, though, you’re likely to find something related to Bloodborne (not you Bloodborne Kart) but then there are even bigger prospects out there, including the next chapter in the Half-Life franchise that’s been rumored to come out since God knows how long.
GTA 6 Is Yet To Make An Appearance As Well
If The Game Awards hosts GTA 6’s second trailer, people are going to lose it. The folks over at r/GTA6 have already gone cray-cray waiting for it, that’s for sure.
Rockstar’s grand action-adventure open-world title and the continuation of the iconic Grand Theft Auto franchise is yet to receive a release date, and the entire industry is expecting the developer to come through anytime soon.
However, if the game ends up making an appearance at TGA this year around, it’s fair to say that everything else is going to get overshadowed—that’s how much big of an influence this IP is.
