Ubisoft has been in the mobile gaming industry for a while now. Its most recent free-to-play game, Brawlhalla, was released for Android and iOS devices in August 2020 and has amassed more than 40 million players across the world. However, the company isn’t finished with mobile gaming, as it seems like Ubisoft Paris Mobile is developing an unannounced new AAA shooter game for mobile.
Earlier today, we came across a recent job listing on the Ubisoft website for the Product Director position at the company’s mobile gaming studio in Montreuil, Paris, France, the description for which reads, “We are seeking an inspirational leader who would help us ensure the best operating conditions for one of our most ambitious projec , an AAA shooter mobile game.” It also states that this unannounced mobile game is a “very ambitious mobile project” for the company, so whatever it is, it’s going to be a massive one.
One of the responsibilities that the candidate will have is to “define and decide the local campaigns/events and the Sales & Promotion strategy (Liveops calendar) inside the game,” which suggests that this unannounced mobile game could have a multiplayer experience to it. Furthermore, this also suggests that the game will have a campaign experience, along with in-game events, which seems to be common in most online games now.
While the job listing doesn’t mention many details about the unannounced mobile game, the “Qualifications” section does state that “Chinese is a strong plus” for the candidate, which suggests that the campaign experience of the game could be based in China or related to it in some way. Of course, this isn’t mentioned explicitly anywhere in the job listing, so it’s not certain.
Unfortunately, this is the only information we have on Ubisoft Paris Mobile’s “ambitious mobile project” for now. In October, it was rumoured that Ubisoft would be releasing Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege on mobile soon after u/am335 on Reddit posted a screenshot of a playtest survey that Ubisoft Halifax supposedly sent out to players containing questions related to mobile games and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. However, there has been no further news regarding this since then.
