Platform games are actually the godfathers of gaming. No games would exist without starting from this relatively simple 2D concept and we should be thankful for it. The genre is still pretty alive today and certain games from it have large sales numbers too.
One of the most popular platform games in the modern era is Crash Bandicoot. It has been around since 1996 and has been mega-successful across all of the platforms. Many different developers, ranging from Naughty Dog to Activision, have published games in the franchise.
Most recently, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time came out in October 2020 for current-generation consoles. Releases on the next-generation consoles like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, alongside Nintendo Switch took place in 2021. Recently, a new application listing on SteamDB suggests that the game might also be coming to another storefront very soon.
Recently, a new listing has been found on SteamDB which suggests that Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time might be coming to Steam. You can see the listing for an unknown application that will release soon on the Steam storefront.
What’s interesting in this is a SteamDB staff comment saying that this game may be Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. Going by this, we could be seeing the platform game on Steam very soon. The game did release on PC through the Activision proprietary storefront, Battle.net, back in 2021.
If this listing is actually Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, this might be finally changing. Another Activision game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, has also arrived on Steam, so that gives this listing some basis. The last time this record got an update was almost a month back, on May 5, so this listing has been around for a while.
Seeing the game on Steam will be good for the players, too, so we hope that this is true. Not much else is known about any tentative release of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time on Steam as of now. Hopefully, Activision makes an official announcement soon enough.
