As of recent, NVIDIA’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) is now very common for most AAA games. In June 2021, AMD announced its own competitor to DLSS, FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR). However, NVIDIA still continues to dominate the industry with more games supporting the technology from 2019. Now, CD Projekt RED’s recently released RPG, Cyberpunk 2077, seems to be receiving the latest update for NVIDIA DLSS but it isn’t an official one.
DLSS promises more frame rates without compromising on visual quality and Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the more graphically demanding games that use this feature. noxide1234, a user on Nexus Mods, recently uploaded the DLSS Update 2.3.2 patch for Cyberpunk 2077 that players can use to update the game to the latest version of NVIDIA’s super-sampling technology.
All the resources are free-to-use, so players can just extract the files and move them into the Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64 directory, which will overwrite the existing .dll files. NVIDIA DLSS 2.3.2 was released on 18th October. However, Cyberpunk 2077 still hasn’t been updated with the latest version, which could mean performance issues for many players. However, this unofficial patch will ensure that doesn’t happen.
At the moment, this update has been downloaded more than a thousand times and no one has reported any bugs or issues against it. However, one user, Entreped, did comment under the mod, saying that the update does have a ghosting issue when the protagonist is not moving.
It is recommended that players back up their game before installing the mod, as issues may occur. Since its release in December 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 has received many updates and patches to resolve the issues that the game has been criticised for. With each DLSS update, NVIDIA improves the visual quality of the games and resolves a few issues with the previous versions. This mod is another way of improving the game’s current visual quality and clarity issues.
