Character Details Of Sony’s New Action-Adventure Video Game Revealed

Could Naughty Dog be behind this project?

                                                                       Story Highlights

  • Sony’s job listing revealed a casting call for an action-adventure game at Sony PlayStation Studios.
  • The listing sought actors aged 20-60 and 40-60, for a potential rated M video game.
  • It’s currently unknown which studio is developing the game or if it’s a new IP or a continuation.

In May, insider DanielRPK dropped news about a PlayStation first-party title on his Patreon. The screenshot of a job listing there revealed a casting call for a game, managed by Jamie Bafus, Senior Manager of Casting and Talent at Sony PlayStation Studios Worldwide.

According to the listing, It required a female between the ages 20 and 60 with dark brunette hair and a white male in the age bracket of 40 to 60, with salt and pepper gray hair for an action-adventure game that contains intense violence and profanity with a potential rating of M for Mature.

The casting page has a very interesting picture, which aids as a reference of how both the characters would look like. Even though the job listing asked for an actress aged 20 to 60, the reference image suggests the character is likely an older woman, due to visible neck wrinkles.

By hiding both the faces and clothing, Sony seems to be keeping the game’s theme a secret. This adds mystery and excitement. A similar approach was used by Rockstar Games for Red Dead Redemption 2. Before the game’s release, Rockstar also kept important details under the sheets, which created a lot of buzz and fan theories.

Jim Ryan and Hiroki Totoki have taken the exit doors. This may give a new direction to the company as the PlayStation 5 has not seen many grand exclusives and it has primarily been used to recycle old games into remasters and remakes.

At this point, we are not aware if the game is a new IP or a continuation of a series nor the studio spearheading it but we have our fingers crossed as Sony rarely disappoints with their action-adventure video games.
