During a recent Twitch stream on November 30, one of YouTube’s top stars, “IShowSpeed,” facetimed famous internet personality Iran Ferreira, known as “Luva de Pedreiro.”
However, the only problem was that neither could speak the other’s language, which resulted in some amusing moments between the two.
MAJOR TAKEAWAYS
- IShowSpeed facetime popular TikToker Iran Ferreira but fails to communicate.
- The language barrier between the two made it very difficult for them to communicate.
Darren Watkins Jr. is an American YouTuber, streamer, and rapper better known as IShowSpeed or simply Speed. He has recently gained an interest in football and thought it was appropriate to invite Luva to his stream.
Iran Ferreira is a Brazilian football player, TikToker, YouTuber, Instagrammer, and social media personality. He is also known by another name which is Luva De Pedreiro. His content primarily consists of him performing football stunts or scoring fantastic free-kick goals.
Darren had the TikTok star’s phone number, but the two had never met before due to the language issue.
However, he decided to invite the Brazilian to his stream and tried his best to communicate. He started his conversation but didn’t have much to say yet he tried. He kept stating, “Hey, yo, hola! Rebecca! Rebecca! Hey, do you speak English?”
Luva’s reaction was clearly odd to IShowSpeed because the former continued to speak in Portuguese. Despite the inability to engage, the facetime call was watchable, especially for non-Portuguese.
If you’re wondering why Darren kept yelling “Rebecca,” it’s because Luva has a distinctive statement when he gets a goal. He is frequently heard saying “Receba,” which translates roughly to “take that.” His catchphrase has become so popular that it has been imitated by professional players.
After several unsuccessful attempts at communication, Darren fetched a friend who knew Portuguese and asked him to teach him how to celebrate.
However, Luva was unable to teach him what he desired. The two split ways because they were still unable to communicate.
