Tears of the Kingdom Becomes Highest-Rated Entry Of All Time On OpenCritic

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has seemingly become the highest-rated entry on the popular review aggregator OpenCritic, breaking all the shaky tensions in the gaming sphere. The entry has managed to surpass the previous top rated entry and its own predecessor. It has calculated the total score after computing a bundle of positive reviews that game critics have awarded the game.

The press reviews for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom went live a day before its release after the embargo lifted. OpenCritic has currently gathered a total score of 97.223, awarding first place to the game. 

The high score on the OpenCritic site is miles ahead of the competition, with Super Mario Odyssey in the second spot featuring 96.81. Its predecessor is in third place, with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild boasting a high score of 95.9. Tears of the Kingdom currently adopt a 100% critics recommended score, which is a staggering achievement for the awaited entry.

It has also conquered another notable aggregator, Metacritic, standing among the top-rated Switch titles of all time. Moreover, it is the highest-rated game on the review aggregator site for this year, boasting healthy scores for the game after factoring in the reviews from all the game critics. Metacritic currently lists a score of 96 based on 83 critic reviews for the game.

That is not all; it is the highest-rated game on Metacritic since Red Dead Redemption 2 came out in 2018, which is another massive milestone. A select few games are rated higher than the new triumphant sequel, namely The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time with 99 scores, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 with 98 score, Grand Theft Auto IV with 98, and lastly, SoulCalibur also with 98.

The title has been coated with a positive reception by all the major game critic sites, and many have enjoyed the new version of the Hyrule kingdom. The high scores have deeply alluded to the massive milestone after the reviews started flooding the game. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is also said to push the boundaries of open-world games, serving as a hearty experience worth remembering just like its predecessor.

It has been widely praised for its significantly larger world, more engaging storyline, and mesmerizing gameplay that enthralls you with its visuals.
