According to the FTC documents, Microsoft is planning a mid-gen refresh for the Xbox Series X with a target window of October 2024. The news comes from a ResetEra thread, courtesy of user LiC, showing extensive details about this new and improved version of the console. In addition, the files also show a new controller along with several other bits of information regarding the launch timelines.
Various key features of the new Xbox Series X have been highlighted in these files. Codenamed Brooklin, the refreshed version will feature greater storage capacity and will also be all-digital. Furthermore, it will feature faster Wi-Fi, reduced power, greater immersion via the controller, and a redesign that appears to be far more aesthetic than the original console.
Expanding upon the improved sustainability of this new Xbox Series X, the power consumption of the system’s PSU will be reduced by 15%. Moreover, a new low-power standby mode will be made available; it’s expected to be significantly more efficient than what players currently have in their systems. Along with all the technical tidbits, the refreshed version of the console will have the same price tag of $499 USD.

Beyond the news of a mid-gen refresh, a release schedule was also included in the documents. Several new titles and DLC packs are seen in the list, implying that these projects are currently in the works. For FY23, Doom Year Zero and its DLC are planned in addition to Project Platinum, Project Kestrel & an expansion for Elder Scrolls Online.
For FY24, the schedule shows an expansion for the aforementioned Project Kestrel. Furthermore, Dishonored 3, a sequel to Ghostwire Tokyo, and Fallout 3 Remastered are also mentioned on the list. It needs to be stated that none of this information has been officially confirmed by Microsoft at this time. While the documents may have a relatively high degree of credibility, cautiousness is advised.
