Remedy’s Communication Director Thomas Puha has said that Alan Wake 2 is perfectly optimized for consoles. He professed his contentment with the game’s performance on the platforms including PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but for PC, he sounded rather reserved, saying that the upcoming survival horror game would run “as good as it can” on the platform in question.
Thomas took to X (formerly Twitter) to post the news. He said he himself is a console player and was “really happy” with how well the horror game ran on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Praising the Remedy team responsible for Alan Wake 2’s optimization on consoles he said that the devs have made the game’s visuals and performance “as good as they can” for the consoles.
Folks worrying about the console versions of AW2… smh and I am smiling. As I've said, we've taken great care on consoles, focused on those. I think most of you will be very positively surprised.

Thomas further said that special attention was given to how the title would run on the said gaming systems throughout its development to “ensure that the game would run well” in addition to looking as “incredible as it does.”
Especially as a console player, I’m really happy how good Alan Wake 2 is on console platforms. We had a lot of focus on them throughout development ensuring the game would run well and look as incredible as it does. Focused on all platforms to be fair, as well as we could.”
Yes. I have the unofficial role of "player experience" which is a very very loose term, but I'm all about the console quality as we have more than enough folks to drive the PC quality to as good as it can be.

Thomas Puha’s Twitter post caused a wave of excitement among the Alan Wake 2 enthusiasts who were more than happy to receive the positive news. But despite that, there were some disgruntled voices, especially from PC gamers, and for good reason. Remedy’s recently announced PC system requirements for their new title are quite demanding. PC players will need at least a GeForce RTX 2060 or Radeon RX 6600 GPU, and an Intel i5-7600K or AMD equivalent CPU to run the game.
Remedy is launching Alan Wake 2 after a gruelling wait of 13 years. The survival horror title will be released on October 27 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
