Modern Warfare 3’s Campaign Gameplay Uploaded Online

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is approaching fast, being the third reboot in the franchise for a Modern Warfare game, but it seems that someone has uploaded clips online from the title’s gameplay ahead of time, thereby leaking some parts of its campaign mode. The original video on YouTube has been removed as of now, but a mirror video of the leaked footage was uploaded to Vimeo ever since.

It bears mentioning that although the next iteration in the long-running franchise makes landfall on November 10, 2023, those who pre-ordered the game have been able to play the campaign since yesterday—November 2, 2023. This is part of the Modern Warfare 3 pre-order bonus, where players are able to enjoy the game’s campaign ahead of its global release on November 10. 

• Keep in mind that it’s only the single-player campaign that is unlocked on pre-ordering Modern Warfare 3. The game’s various multiplayer modes will become playable for everyone at once on November 10. 

As the news has found its way on Reddit, the player consensus isn’t looking too good. What once was highly revered for its dumb action, entertaining set pieces, and outright thrilling plotline has now fallen off in the eyes of long-time Call of Duty fans. One of the top comments on the post reads, “That looks like a multiplayer mode with bots. It looks awful.” 

Another person critiques, “Is the entire campaign in this game like this? Just open maps with voiceovers and generic objectives? Battlefield does this but at least they have destruction to an extent. This just feels so bleh.” In contrast, last year’s Modern Warfare 2 — a reboot itself — had a relatively better campaign mode that stuck with fans well.

In other news, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has been making headlines in other aspects as well, namely in the form of PC specifications requirements. Activision released a blog post lately, ascertaining that users will need about 213 GB of free storage for the full Modern Warfare 3 experience. The latter includes the COD HQ app, single-player campaign, all multiplayer aspects, and hi-rez assets for top-level visuals. 

Even without the high-resolution additional data, players will need about 149 GB for the full game, and this too is a fair bit. Modern Warfare 3 is slated to release in no more than a week from now for both old-gen and current-gen platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
