FromSoftware has released update v1.05 for Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon that adds Ranked PvP to the game along with a slew of new features. According to the patch notes, this version sees the inclusion of competitive PvP and “Name Plate” features in the game’s NEST menu. Additionally, new AC parts, weapons, and HUD elements have also been introduced.
Ranked PvP in AC6 will utilize automatic matchmaking to determine players of similar combat prowess and pit them against each other. Player skill will be gauged via Ranks divided into six levels starting from Unranked, D, C, B, A, and S. In classic fashion, you’ll be able to raise your rank by earning points. The top 100 S-Rank pilots will have a distinction displayed on their rank icon as a testament to their prowess.
PvP rules outlined in the release notes state that Ranked will employ 1v1 and 3v3 rulesets. Earning RP in the former will require you to win while the latter takes individual contribution into account as well. The time limit will be set to 120 seconds for 1v1 and 180 seconds for 3v3 with map selection being randomized.

Balance Adjustments In Armored Core 6 Patch 1.05
Aside from the new inclusions, several weapon units and frame parts have been adjusted in v1.05 of AC6. Assault Rifles RF-024 TURNER and RF-025 SCUDDER have received a buff to their accumulative impact and ideal/effective range along with a reduction in recoil and sway. Burst Assault Rifle MA-J-201 RANSETSU-AR & Machine Guns MG-014 LUDLOW and DF-MG-02 CHANG-CHEN have received similar improvements.
Similarly, Split Missile launchers have received some tweaks in patch 1.05 of AC6. BML-G2/P19SPL-12 and BML-G2/P17SPL-16 have increased guidance. In addition, the payloads will now split closer to the target making it difficult for the enemy to perform evasive maneuvers.
The patch notes point out that ACs with tank legs will now perform a “readying” action before firing grenade launchers or bazookas. Furthermore, units using Tetrapod legs will now have decreased movement in mid-air due to recoil from relevant weapons. Along with Tetrapod, Bipedal, and Reverse Joint ACs will now have an increased animation lock duration after executing a Boost Kick.
Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon launched on August 25, 2023, for the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC. In eXputer’s review, Huzaifah rated the game 4.5/5, dubbing it the greatest mech game of all time.
