The rumor was propelled by many of The Sims 4 content creators, including @SimMattically on Twitter —now deleted. Google searching for the base game would reveal Nintendo Switch among the other listed platforms in the official description, which sparked a lot of hype in The Sims scene. It allegedly even showed up in different languages. However, there were no mentions on the official websites; now we know why that was.
The Tweet clarifies that the information on the Google search was just a nothing burger, a mistake that went unnoticed for some time. So, the error in the data caused the rumor to gain hold in the community before the devs debunked it on Twitter.
The Sims 4 has eventually been released on almost all mainstream platforms across multiple generations, which is among the greatest factors that have allowed it to gain such a massive footing in the gaming scene. However, the social simulation is still yet to be released on the current domineering Nintendo console, the Switch. Unfortunately, the new tweet by EA has shattered all hopes of it ever arriving on the portable.
