During Chapter 8 of FF7 Rebirth, a main mission will require you to feed Piko with Sylkis Green, which can be found in various locations throughout the Corel Prison or the Dustbowl area. In this section, you will be restricted to playing as Cloud and will need to feed the Chocobo in order to participate in a race.
- Players will need to find locations of Sylkis Greens to feed Piko the Chocobo to progress in Chapter 8 of FF7 Rebirth.
- Sylkis Greens are needed to feed Piko, and six can be found by completing various tasks throughout Dustbowl.
- Only three Sylkis Greens are needed to feed Piko completely, so players don’t need to get all six vegetables.
- If players get additional Sylkis Greens, they can use these to trade for Chocobo gear from Esther.
- Author’s Note: I have over 30+ hours in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, with most of the time spent on the main story, so you can trust my information regarding the main quests.
All Piko Feed Locations Summarized
Here is a summary of all the methods that allow you to get feed for Piko in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth;
No. | Method | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Desert Rush Mini-Game | Break boxes within the time limit and reach at least rank 1 to get Sylkis Greens. |
2 | Beating Stalkers | Let the stalkers follow you and beat them in a fight to get Sylkis Greens. |
3 | Caglio's Question | Give the correct answer to Caglio's test and earn Sylkis Greens. |
4 | Beast Battleground | Participate in a tournament of three rounds and win to get Sylkis Greens. |
5 | Bartender's Stash | Talk to the Bartender to get the Cliffside key and climb to the top of the cliff to harvest Sylkis Greens. |
6 | Card Collector's Request | Beat three challengers in Queen's Blood to receive Sylkis Greens from the Card Collector. |
1. Desert Rush Mini-Game
- Settlement Ground Level Near Main Quest: It is one of the easier methods to obtain a piece of Sylkis Greens in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The mini-game itself is located quite close to the area where you talk to Esther. Make your way to the location in the image above and talk to the NPC to begin the mini-game.
- Destroying Boxes: There are three different ranks that you can achieve based on your score. Thankfully, the Sylkis Greens are rewarded for obtaining rank 1, and I quickly obtained that by accumulating 15,000 points. All you have to do in this mini-game is destroy as many boxes as possible. Also, power up the gearboxes by breaking the shock boxes first.
2. Beating Stalkers
- Settlement Ground Level Above Casino: At the location shown in the image above, you will come across three suspicious NPCs who will start humiliating Cloud.
- Directions: Once these individuals have noticed you, move towards the right from that location and enter the room on the left. After entering the room, go through the small gap.
- Fighting The Thugs: These stalkers will follow Cloud through the gap and will jump him for a fight. They are actually three thugs who are pretty easy to beat and, upon defeat, rewarded me with another piece of Sylkis Greens, which I was able to use to feed Piko.
3. Caglio’s Question
- Settlement Ground Level Behind Merchants: Another easy NPC interaction will get you Sylkis Greens in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
- Location: At the location shown in the image above, you will come across Caglio, who will give you an interesting task. He has a group lined up in front of him and wants Cloud to find out which one is lying in the group.
- Finding The Liar: Everyone in the group has a particular, and each member has a story to tell. You will need to confirm each individual’s story by visiting the Dustbowl area.
- Correct Answer: Instead of wasting time on confirming each story, I have your direct answer here. The individual with the number 4 is lying, and after telling Caglio that, you will receive Sylkis Greens.
4. Beast Battleground
- Settlement Below Ground Near Main Gate: The Dustbowl features a secretive location, the Beast Battleground, accessed from a well. The location of the huge well is shown in the image above. You’ll have to participate in a tournament and compete in three different rounds to win Sylkis Greens.
- Winning The Tournament: The first two rounds are pretty easy, and you’ll have to beat groups of fodder enemies. However, there is a tough enemy in the last round.
- Enemy Difficulty: I didn’t have much trouble in all the fights since I had a healing materia equipped, allowing me to endure damage. After beating the final round, you’ll get the Sylkis Greens.
5. Bartender’s Stash
- Settlement Ground Level Near Casino: There is a bartender in Dustbowl who offers Cloud help in his journey to find Sylkis Greens. Make your way to the location shown in the image above and speak with the Bartender to get your hands on a Cliffside key that unlocks your access to the cliff.
- At The Top of The Cliff: You will find another piece of Sylkis Greens here. However, in my experience, I found this method tough as I had to face multiple hard enemies and monsters on my way to the top. Even the vegetable itself is guarded by tough enemies, so proceed with caution and healing equipment.
6. Card Collector’s Request
- Settlement Ground Level Near Main Gate: This method involves beating three different NPCs in a game of Queen’s Blood. Queen’s Blood is basically Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s card game, which personally does not interest me. That is why I ended up skipping this method completely.
- House of Cards: However, if you enjoy playing Queen’s Blood then go talk with the Card Collector at the House of Cards location shown in the image above. After accepting his request, go beat the three challengers who are marked with the golden logo near the casino.
Uses Of Sylkis Greens
Aside from feeding Piko the Sylkis Greens, you can trade the leftover vegetables with Esther. Basically, you only need three Sylkis Greens to feed Piko, and you can accumulate a total of six in the Dustbowl alone. Use the extra Sylkis Greens to purchase more gear for your Chocobo from Esther.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth continues the story of Cloud Strife from the Remake. It is jam-packed with hours of content, and there is so much to do here besides the main story. The main story is pretty hefty, but the developers have ensured that you keep playing the game even after ending the plot.
