These CS: GO Items Are More Expensive Than Your Home

Some of CS: GO's rarest cosmetic items are highly sought after by collectors, greatly increasing their monetary value.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, more commonly abbreviated as CS: GO, is one of the biggest E-Sport games to this day. The first-person shooting game by Valve Corporation came out about a decade ago, in August 2012.

The game managed to surpass its predecessor, Counter-Strike 1.6, which was the biggest FPS game of the 2000s. CS: GO is currently one of the biggest games on Steam, and it continues to grow every year.

The game has seen a fair share of dips and spikes in its player count over the years, but most of them eventually come back to it.

CS: GO features a very high skill ceiling. It is one of the games that you could spend thousands of hours playing but still won’t be able to call yourself “good” at the game. The game is also known for the toxicity of its player base, but to be honest, which multiplayer game isn’t toxic these days?

Another thing CS: GO is most famous for is its trading market. CS: GO features a huge number of cosmetic items, from weapons and knives to character cosmetics, cases, and even stickers. Most of these in-game items are quite cheap, but the rarer it is, the more expensive it will be.

Some of the CS: GO items are so rare and limited that they can easily go for hundreds of thousands of dollars. While it may be difficult to believe for people who are not familiar with the game, it is quite true that some of the items are as expensive as a house in the west, if not more.

Steam’s community market is full of in-game items from different games. However, the front page is usually filled with items from CS: GO due to their sheer popularity and huge player base.

And that is not only limited to the Steam community market; there are tons of betting and trading sites online that exclusively deal in CS: GO cosmetics.

The following are some of the most expensive and rare items from CS: GO which might also easily be the most expensive items out of any video game.

7. Pandora’s Box and Vice – Sports Gloves – $20,000

Gloves became part of CS: GO in 2016, along with the introduction of the Glove Case. It was quite clear back then that these gloves would become only more expensive with time. These gloves would appear on the screen all the time, unlike weapon skins that are only there until you change the weapon.

Pandora’s Box Sports Gloves were one of the first and the most popular ones to be introduced in the game. These gloves had flashy colors and stood out on the screen alongside any spectacular weapon skin to make the player look even cooler.

The Vice variant of these gloves became even more popular because professional CS: GO players such as kennyS and s1mple appeared using them.

As of now, the Pandora’s Box Sports Gloves can be bought for more than $32,000 in Factory New condition, while the Vice variant can reach up to $20,000.

6. IBUYPOWER HOLO Sticker – $50,000

It may be hard to believe how a sticker ended up on this list. You might be even more surprised by their worth, as these stickers can cost up to $50,000.

There are plenty of reasons why this sticker is so expensive in the CS: GO item market. This sticker came out when the IBuyPower team participated in the IEM Katowice 2014 tournament. The team was banned soon afterward in 2015 due to being involved in a match-fixing scandal.

The team was only able to take part in one major in their career, which is one of the reasons why these stickers are so limited. Most of these stickers have already been applied to weapon skin to increase its value or to make their weapon skin look cooler.

However, it is quite likely that the price of these stickers will only go up from now on due to the rarity and limited supply. But there is one other sticker that is even rarer.

5. Titan HOLO Sticker – $70,000

This Titan Holo Sticker is even more expensive than the IBuyPower one. The sticker was also released in the IEM Katowice 2014 tournament based on a CS: GO team, “Titan.” Titan retired shortly afterward in January 2015.

What makes this sticker more expensive than the previous one is because of how it looks. The design is quite attractive and stands out perfectly on any weapon skin.

The supply of this sticker is also quite limited due to the team only taking part in one major. These stickers are worth around $70,000 and are mostly used to increase the valuation of other weapon skins.

4. StatTrak M4A4 – HOWL – $200,000

The StatTrak M4A4 Howl is quite popular among collectors due to the history behind the item. The weapon skin was only available for a single month in 2014, after which the artist behind the weapon skin issued a DMCA takedown notice.

After the notice was issued, the skin was removed from the cases, but players who had already received the skin were allowed to keep it. Later on, Valve changed the skin’s rarity to Contraband from Covert, making it the only skin with that tag.

The only way to get your hands on this skin is to get one from someone who already owns it. While a regular variant of the skin costs around $6,000, a Factory New StatTrak M4A4 Howl is worth around $13,000.

However, trades for these StatTrak M4A4 Howl skins have been recorded for more than $100,000. Some of these skins, with a few Titan Holo stickers, are currently valued at around $200k.

3. AWP Souvenir Dragon Lore – $400,000

The Dragon Lore is undoubtedly one of the best skins in the game. Not only because of its rarity but because of how it looks. Out of all the variants of the weapon skin, the Souvenir variant is considered the rarest and most expensive.

The skin came out in 2014. The regular Factory New variant of a Dragon Lore can be found at around $10k. However, a Souvenir Dragon Lore can easily reach up to $65,000 in peak condition. Paired with a few Tital Holos, you can find this skin easily for about $400,000.

2. StatTrak AK-47 Case Hardened – Scar Pattern – $450,000

Featuring smooth blue-colored skin with an attractive golden scar, the StatTrak AK-47 Case Hardened Scar Pattern is one of the rarest skins in the game. While case-hardened skins aren’t that rare in general, pattern #661 is something that’s not often seen.

This weapon skin is loved by collectors globally. Pattern #661 is one out of 12 available Blue Gem patterns, and it is next to impossible actually to pull this skin out of a case.

The price of this weapon skin is astonishingly high because just the case costs about 50 bucks each, and you have to be lucky to find this specific pattern, even in like 100 cases.

The last recorded transaction of this skin in January 2021 was at about $150,000. Currently, the worth of this skin is estimated somewhere between $400,000 to $500,000.

1. Karambit Case Hardened – Blue Gem – $750,000

The Blue Gem variant of the Karambit Case Hardened is easily the rarest and most expensive item in CS: GO. Aside from being extremely expensive, it is a beautiful weapon skin from top to bottom. To add to its rarity, there is only one of these things around.

The Karambit Case Hardened - Blue Gem is the only one of its kind.

The chances of getting a Blue Gem variant of the Karambit Case Hardened is about one in 824 million cases. Currently, the skin is owned by Newb Rage, who bought this skin for $150,000 in 2016. Newb Rage reportedly received an offer of $1.4 million but turned it down.

The estimated value of this skin is about $750,000 currently. But there is really no way to judge it since there only exists one, and its value is going to depend on its owner if he decides to sell it. But one thing is for sure, and that is the price of the skin is only going to get higher.

Takeaway

While there are many games that feature in-game items that can be sold for a lot of money, none of them come close to the most expensive cosmetic items of CS: GO. Most of these items are worth much more than a house and will continue to get more expensive with time.

CS: GO has been out for many years now, but it still is going strong and will continue to go on in the foreseeable future with its loyal player base.
