Here Are 7 PlayStation Games On Sale Right Now I Believe You Should Pick Up

Whether you're a shooting game enthusiast or an open-world fanatic, it's hard to go wrong with these choices.

Story Highlights

  • The official PlayStation Store has discounted a slew of games for the PlayStation 4 and 5.
  • Not all of these games are worth the price cuts, but some of them truly offer great bang for your buck.
  • Titles such as Red Dead Redemption 2, Jedi: Survivor, and Ghost Of Tsushima offer great replayability.

Due to the courtesy of PlayStation’s extended Spring Sale, it’s that time of the year again when you can pick up an array of top-notch titles at discounted rates. I mean, who doesn’t love that? However, if you scoot on over to the official PlayStation storefront, you’ll find hundreds of price-reduced titles up for grabs, so here’s the kicker: Not all of them are worth your time and money.

That is why I decided to cherry-pick ahead a list of PlayStation games for both the PS4 and PS5 that you can dive into and expect a mighty good time without breaking the bank either.

Best And Cheap PlayStation Games That You Should Check Out Right Now

With no further ado, here are my top recommendations after pouring hundreds of hours into each entry. That way, you know you’re in good hands.

1. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Jedi: Survivor on Sale Right Now, Going 55% Off
  • Release Date: April 28, 2023
  • Developer: Respawn Entertainment
  • Genre: Action, Soulslike, Third-Person, Story-Driven

Kicking it off is Respawn Entertainment’s tantalizing Soulslike that really keeps you on the edge of your seat as you course through as Cal Kestis, previously a padawan, but now much more of an experienced fighter. Jedi: Survivor is adrenaline-fueled, and that’s saying the least, with fight sequences, boss battles (not you Rick), and visual animations that just come across as high-quality.

Additionally, I’m quite appreciative of the difficulty level set by the devs here—even though it surprisingly features various difficulty modes, Jedi Knight, which is synonymous with “Normal” keeps things far away from monotony all the same.

2. Red Dead Redemption 2

  • Release Date: October 26, 2018
  • Developer: Rockstar Games
  • Genre: Open-World, Action-Adventure

Do me a favor, push away that rock you’re living under if you haven’t played this masterpiece of a game. Sure, Red Dead Redemption 2 is often slow, with many complaining about the title’s pacing, but when it takes off, it really takes off. If you’re a fan of free-roam titles with much to do here and there, consider this Rockstar effort right up there at the top of the hierarchy in that particular domain.

  • Release Date:  27 October, 2023
  • Developer: Remedy Entertainment
  • Genre: Survival Horror

Alan Wake 2, the sequel to the cult classic Alan Wake from 2010, goes 20% off on the PlayStation Store right now, which may not be much, but still makes this fantastic survival horror worth pursuing even more. Talk about an ultimate experience that not only delivers stunning visuals on top of fantastic gameplay, but an extremely intriguing storyline that has you speculating about the future of the franchise.

Oh, and by the way, here’s our interview with Sam Lake, where eXputer discussed Control 2, Alan Wake 2’s DLC, and more. Check that out for more valuable insights.

4. It Takes Two

It Takes Two is Best Enjoyed With a Friend or Family
  • Release Date: March 26, 2021
  • Developer: Hazelight Studios
  • Genre: Platformer

Speaking from personal experience, It Takes Two is flat-out therapeutic, and nothing to be slept on if you’ve got a partner you frequently play with. This co-op-centric platformer is built from the ground up with genuine creativity, and going through the title, it won’t take long for you to figure that out. Just so you know, it was crowned the most-awarded game of 2021 back in the day, which is the year when it launched.

5. Ghost Of Tsushima Director’s Cut

  • Initial Release Date: July 17, 2020
  • Developer: Sucker Punch Productions
  • Genre: Open-World, Action-Adventure

A title like Ghost of Tsushima only comes along once a decade, that’s what I can tell you after playing through this history-maker a gazillion times by now. PlayStation has the Director’s Cut version of the game on sale at the moment, which means the Iki Island expansion comes with the package. And that package is an extremely entertaining, beautifully built samurai action-adventure with pristine combat.

Dying Light 2 Joins the Sales Occasion as Well
  • Release Date: 4 February 2022
  • Developer: Techland
  • Genre: Open-World, First-Person

Dying Light 2 is a personal favorite and one of the most enjoyable zombie games you can get right now. At 50% off, which prices it at $29.99, the sequel to the first Dying Light features improvements on multiple levels, including parkour, where the protagonist now has a paraglider as part of his available tools. Couple that with cutthroat combat, and diverse open-world freedom, and you’re looking at one heck of a game here.

Our interview with Techland revealed that the developer is working on more crossovers for Dying Light 2, just so you know. Do give that write-up a full read for more interesting tidbits.

7. Remnant 2

Remnant 2 is Yet Another Enjoyable Venture
Remnant 2 is Gunfire Games’ Surprise Smash Hit
  • Release Date: July 25, 2023
  • Developer: Gunfire Games
  • Genre: Third-Person Shooter

I wasn’t truly expecting Gunfire Games to go all out like that with Remnant 2, the sequel to the 2019-released Remnant: From the Ashes, which apparently wears its quality like a crown. At its core, it’s a Soulslike third-person shooter with great gunplay, interesting mechanics, and high enemy diversity, so you never feel the gameplay getting redundant.

Remnant 2 will get additional DLC as well, and who knows, Gunfire may get around to adding a survival mode in the game down the road as well, as David Adams, studio president, told us in an interview
