Steam’s “Poland” Sale Discounts Some Of The Best Games From The Past Decade

Count me and my wallet in.

Story Highlights

  • Steam’s latest “Poland” sale happens to a number of noteworthy games from Polish developer studios.
  • Titles such as The Witcher 3, Ghostrunner 2, Dying Light 2, and Cyberpunk 2077 have chimed in.
  • The sale lasts until August 19 at 10 a.m. PT and goes as up as 85% off across different games.

It’s been a while since Steam put on discounts this good. The Valve storefront currently welcomes a ton of deals for Polish games, and lucky for you, most of these are titles that you’re going to want to play in case you haven’t already. We’re talking about the likes of Cyberpunk 2077 here all the way down to indie hits such as Ghostrunner and its mega-hit sequel.

I decided to put a list of all the worth-it games that you should certainly pursue now that Steam is letting their prices off the hook to a certain extent. Make sure to sift through each listing diligently for the best results.

Who Knew Polish Devs Were This Talented?

If you spot a tight listing or two over at Steam and it’s not talked about here, do post a comment down below and be a good Samaritan.

1. Dying Light (Sale Bundle)

Dying Light Polish Sale Bundle
The Dying Light Polish Sale Bundle Is a Fantastic Deal That You Really Shouldn’t Ignore

Right off the bat is a fantastic sale bundle by Techland, the maker of the renowned Dying Light franchise. Both of the games in the series happen to be on sale currently, and you’re much better off picking them up in this bundle that’s currently selling for about $20.24. Talk about insane value, because you’re not just getting the two Dying Light titles here, but also their respective DLCs, namely The Following and Bloody Ties.

Individually, the games would set you back more than $45. Techland’s genuinely hit home with its take on the zombie survival genre, considering the quality on display here, and as per eXputer’s interview with the developer, expect more crossover events making their way to Dying Light 2 soon.

2. Ghostrunner 2

Ghostrunner 2
Ghostrunner 2 Is Pure Adrenaline

One More Level’s Ghostrunner 2 really does have you playing just one more level until you see the sun coming up outside. The first-person slasher from last year is just teeming with adrenaline and is a thoroughly upgraded version of its predecessor that came out in 2020. It’s pretty fast-paced, featuring enticing boss fights, and great gameplay overall to keep you hooked from start to finish.

3. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3
The Witcher 3 Needs No Introduction at This Point

CD Projekt Red — the world-renowned Polish developer — hit the peak of open-world RPG adventures back in the day when it launched The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Its Complete Edition, comprising the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansion packs along with the next-gen graphical and gameplay overhaul, is currently listed for $12.49.

It’s nothing but another fantastic deal that will keep you occupied for more than 200 hours without breaking a sweat. The Witcher 3 has characters that you’ll grow to care about, terrific world design, and absolutely top-tier DLCs that walk gaming’s hall of fame. eXputer wrote an updated review on The Witcher 3 as well, rating it 4.5/5.0, with author Huzaifah Durrani remarking,

For those who intend to play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on next-gen consoles, the game is bound to offer an upgraded experience, with improvements such as an alternative camera, improved graphics, and quick sign casting.”

4. Frostpunk

Frostpunk
Frostpunk Is a Must-Play If You’ve Got a Thing for Survival Games

Frostpunk is one of the best games I can recommend for escaping your loneliness. It’s exceptionally immersive and is just bursting at the seams with detail that makes you regret not playing it sooner. Categorically, it’s a survival simulator, but nothing like the usual cut of titles out there with predictable gameplay loops and unvaried progression.

5. This War Of Mine

This War of Mine
This War of Mine Is More Than a Video Game

An incredibly sad venture by 11 bit studios, the same developer as Frostpunk, and multiple other noteworthy projects, This War of Mine’s essence stretches beyond the video gaming sphere. The game employs the 1994 Balkans war as its premise, creating a setting where you control a group of civilians who have to survive in any manner possible during a brutal, hellish war.

I consider it a total experience, and if you feel melancholic playing through it, do know that you’ve played it right. The gameplay mechanics are nice and well-optimized, though the graphics can feel a bit jarring at first. Still an amazing title that I can recommend any day of the week.

6. Shadow Warrior 2

Shadow Warrior 2
Shadow Warrior 2 Is No-Nonsense Fun

Outside of comparisons to the Borderlands franchise by 2K, I find Shadow Warrior 2 a highly enjoyable experience, where action is paramount, the humor is on point, and the maps are as cool as heck. It’s currently 90% off, listed for only a dollar and a few cents. Can’t go wrong with it, I’m telling you. 7. Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 at 50% Off Is a Surefire Treat

Now here’s one first-person action RPG that has stood its ground as one of the biggest comeback stories in gaming history. Back in December 2020, when Cyberpunk 2077 launched in a terrible, broken state, fans’ disappointment knew no bounds, but developer CD Projekt Red did not disappoint in the long run.

The very same title is now one of the bests you can play in 2024, with tailored improvements and updates in the name of Update 2.0 and subsequent patches, along with the release of the excellent Phantom Liberty expansion, that makes Cyberpunk 2077 so great. No reason not to get it if you haven’t already.

eXputer reviewed the latter and rated it 4.5/5.0, with author Usama Mehmood praising the DLC’s engaging storylines, and further remarking,

With the release of Phantom Liberty, CD Projekt Red has finally delivered the grand RPG they promised all those years ago.”
