Story Highlights
- If you’re looking to get the most value out of your gaming hobby, this article is for you.
- Some games tend to become cheap after being listed on multiple storefronts for several years.
- Titles such as Deep Rock Galactic, Factorio, and Path of Exile are A-grade when it comes to value for money.
Hey, we all love value in our games, especially those that become near and dear to our hearts, but unfortunately, there’s only so much you can squeeze out of a particular game before it starts running a little too thin in terms of content. That’s why I’ve decided to compile a list of games that sport unbeatable value for money in the sense that you can squeeze out ungodly hours from them, while not paying a premium as well.
Of course, that is best exercised when you purchase any of these games on sale, but regardless, you won’t find any titles in here going for north of $50. Talk about relentless gaming and that too on a budget.
These Titles Are Hardly Beat When It Comes Down To Value
In case you’ve got your own stories to share with specific games, make sure to comment below and tell me all about them.
1. Deep Rock Galactic
We’ve got Deep Rock Galactic to begin with here, coming off as one of the most unique first-person shooters you can get your hands on, all the while grinding the title to the moon and back. Seriously, it’s an exceptionally grindy game that will put you to your paces over time, especially since Ghost Ship Games — the developer — announced that all of the older seasons will now be accessible in the game.
That gives you an insane amount of content to shovel through and trust me, as far as the overall value is concerned, it really does not get any better than this. The co-op-focused title usually goes for somewhere around $10, but at the time of writing, it happens to be discounted to merely $3.46.

2. Path Of Exile
With a sequel approaching, Path of Exile takes pride in one of the most bang-for-your-buck games present in any video game marketplace at the moment. It’s an action RPG with a dark fantasy setting, but let met tell you this straight upfront: It’s not for beginners. The visuals are catchy, the gameplay is on point, but the whole progression system is the cherry on top.
I’ve poured several hours into the title, and here’s what I can tell you: Path of Exile does not start showing its true colors unless you’re about 1000 hours in. As ridiculous as that sounds, it’s true, and you’re genuinely able to extract a whole ton of value from the action RPG.

3. Fallout 4
While not the best Fallout ever made, because that title likely goes to Fallout: New Vegas, I will still urge you to give Fallout 4 a shot. It’s one of the most replayable RPGs ever made, with fine visuals, fantastic combat gameplay, and a large, bustling wasteland that’s just begging to be explored.
Besides, Bethesda, thanks to the popularity of the recently released Fallout TV show, capitalized on the situation and released a next-gen update for the game, so you will be benefitting from all of that enhanced, good stuff in Fallout 4, should you choose to fire it up today.

4. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
CD Projekt Red hit the zenith of RPG creativity with the onset of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, pumping the game full of content while mastering its fundamentals, so the game feels and plays brilliantly. It’s also one of the most replayable RPGs of all time, so you know that the grind is real with it. However, you cannot put The Witcher 3 in the same category as something like Path of Exile.
This is a much more story-driven, narrative-focused experience than the rest of the competition, and I really feel you should give it a go. eXputer reviewed The Witcher 3’s next-gen update and rated it 4.5/5.0, with author Huzaifah Durrani remarking,
For those who intend to play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on next-gen consoles, the game is bound to offer an upgraded experience, with improvements such as an alternative camera, improved graphics, and quick sign casting.”

5. Factorio
Wube Software’s Factorio is one of the rarer high-quality experiences out there that take up even less than 10 GB of storage space, having its gameplay centered on factory building and automation. It’s jam-packed with content in such a way that the game will become your immediate next addiction, with each session spanning up to 4-8 hours of gameplay, because of the constant monitoring required in-game.

6. Stardew Valley
Eric Barone, the solo creator of the highly praised Stardew Valley, has poured a lot of passion into this project, creating it from scratch with nothing but love. As such, the farming simulator at hand lets you craft your own stories, with its impressive art direction and great gameplay. It’s a true “comfort game” that you can get into, and the fact that it costs less than $10 is nothing but the icing on the cake.
eXputer’s 4.5/5.0 review of Stardew Valley holds it in high regard as well, commending its content variety, pleasing music, and freedom of choice.
