If you want strong armor that absorbs a lot of damage and mobility is not an issue for you, then you need to opt for heavy armor. The Marksman is easily the best heavy armor for you to go within Helldivers 2 as it has the most armor rating but lacks mobility

With Marksman, you get the Fortified Amor Passive. It reduces your recoil by a good 30% while also reducing explosive damage by 50%. Hence, the Marksman is excellent at damage reduction and helps you shoot with reduced recoil. The only setback of using this armor is the apparent difference in speed you will feel.

  • Offers excellent protection
  • Reduced recoil while crouching.
  • Minimises explosive damage.

  • Low Mobility.

Why I Chose The Marksman: I suggest using the Marksman because of its ability to absorb huge amounts of damage.

2. CE-35 Trench Engineer

Most Balanced Armor.

Trench Engineer is the most balanced armor for you to equip in Helldivers 2. It gives you suitable enough protection while costing you little speed. Trench Engineering has the Engineering Kitalongside a good armor rating and speed combo, making it the best armor in Helldivers 2.

The Engineering Kit Armor Passive also reduces the recoil by 30% while crouching, giving you two additional slots for grenades. Hence, the Trench Engineer is an excellent choice as it absorbs much damage, doesn’t slow you down, and helps reduce recoil.

  • A very balanced combination of protection and mobility.
  • Reduced recoil while crouching.
  • Increased grenade capacity.

  • None.

Why I Chose The Trench Engineer: I opted for the Trench Engineer due to its optimal balance of heavy armor and mobility.

3. SC-34 Infiltrator

The infiltrator is the best armor for sneaking closer to enemies without alarming them and is helpful when detecting enemies through the map. It could be more useful when under attack as it has a low armor rating but can help you escape combat due to its good speed and stamina regen.

With Infiltrator, you get the Scout Armor Passive. This makes the Infiltrator an ideal choice for being off the radar as it reduces the distance your enemies can detect you by 30%, and markers placed by you generate a radar scan every 2 seconds.

  • Excellent Mobility.
  • Markers placed on the map generate radar scans.
  • Reduced range at which enemies can detect you.

  • Low Damage protection.

Why I Chose The Infiltrator: I recommend the Infiltrator due to its exceptional mobility and tactical advantages, such as regular radar scans.

Other Armors You Can Consider

Some top-tier Armor sets didn’t make my Top 3 list, but you might want to give these a try as well:

  • SA-32 Dynamo: Dynamo is another high armor rating dependable Armor set. Absorbing damage won’t be a problem for you while wearing Dynamo.
  • CM-09 Bonesnapper: This Armor set excels at mobility. Like the Infiltrator, 500+ speed means moving around and escaping challenging situations is easier with light armor.
  • DP-11 Champion of the People: The only downside of this armor is that you won’t be able to access it early in the game, but again, it is a very lightweight armor that doesn’t hinder your mobility.

My Thoughts

Mobility is essential for success in this game, so I immensely enjoyed using the Infiltrator. However, the overall best armor is easily the Trench Engineer, as it offers similar mobility to the Infiltrator while taking in a reasonable amount of damage. It comes down to how you want to take down your enemies, so try all these armor and find which suits you best.

That’s my opinion regarding the best armor in Helldivers 2. Also, give Best Support Weapons in Helldivers 2 a read.
