The Gongaga Protorelic is locked behind combat simulations, which can be accessed in the Turks’ Training Facilities scattered across the Gongaga region in FF7 Rebirth. There are four separate combat simulations that must be completed to unlock the Protorelic.
- The Gongaga Protorelic can be obtained by completing four combat simulations in FF7 Rebirth.
- These simulations can be found inside the Turks’ Training Facilities located around the Gongaga region.
- Players must obtain the Chocobo in Gongaga first to make traversal easier and to reach the final training facility.
- Aside from the Protorelic itself, players will receive additional rewards, including amazing items such as the Prayer Materia and EXP.
- Author’s Note: I have over 35 hours in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which is why you can put your trust in my guide, as it is backed by experience.
All Gongaga Protorelic Locations
Here is a summary of all the locations where the combat simulations can be accessed in Gongaga to obtain the Protorelic:
Phenomenon Intel | Training Facility | Location |
---|---|---|
Phenomenon Intel 1 | Training Facility V-B | Found near the Cliffside Storehouse and the entrance can be accessed from within the storehouse. |
Phenomenon Intel 2 | Training Facility A-D | It is located near the Old Pipeline Remnawave Tower and the entrance can be accessed by climbing the rope hanging from the cliff. |
Phenomenon Intel 3 | Training Facility W-T | It can be easily found near the Gongaga Airport. |
Phenomenon Intel 4 | Training Facility B-T | The location is sandwiched between the Gongaga Ruins Remnawave Tower and the Gongaga Airstrip but the entrance can only be accessed through the ruins. |
Phenomenon Intel 1
- Location: The first Phenomenon Intel for the Protorelic can be found at the Training Facility V-B, located near the Cliffside Storehouse, as seen in the image above.
- Entrance: The icon for the Phenomenon was located on the mountain, which confused me at first, but the entrance can be found on the right side, where stairs can be seen once you enter the Cliffside Storehouse area.
- Challenge: You will face three waves of enemies back to back and need to defeat them to complete the first combat simulation, which will also unveil the location of the next Phenomenon.
- Reward: After completing the combat simulation, you can open the treasure chest inside the training room, rewarding you with 3 Mist Mega Potions.
Phenomenon Intel 2
- Location: The second training facility can be easily accessed from the Old Pipeline Remnawave Tower, located directly above that tower, as you can see in the image above.
- Entrance: After arriving at the location, you will come across a hanging rope outside of a small cave, which will take your party above the hill and lead you to another rope that descends into the training facility.
- Challenge: The second combat simulation is also another tournament of three rounds where your party must beat three consecutive waves of enemies to reveal the next training facility location.
- Reward: After completing the combat simulation, you will also obtain 2 Bottles of High Ether by opening up the treasure chest inside the training room.
Phenomenon Intel 3
- Location: It is probably the most straightforward training facility to find since you can easily make your way here from the Gongaga Airport.
- Entrance: The entrance is not hidden this time around, and it can be spotted easily once you arrive at the location shown in the image above.
- Challenge: The challenge still involves beating three waves of enemies, but a time limit will be imposed to make things more challenging; however, the Shinra Troops you face here have relatively lower health.
- Reward: The treasure chest inside the third training room only contains an Elixir for players to collect.
Phenomenon Intel 4
- Location: The fourth and final training facility is located between the Gongaga Ruins Remnwave Tower and the Gongaga Airstrip.
- Entrance: It is the hardest entrance to locate since most players will try to approach the location from the Gongaga Airstrip and get blocked by a closed door. You need to reach the location from the Gongaga Ruins.
- Challenge: This is also the hardest yet and is essentially a boss fight since you’ll have to face a simulation of both Rude and Elena simultaneously.
- Strategy: I was easily pressurizing Elena using Tifa’s abilities, and you can also make use of the Wind and Lightning spells, which are Rude and Elena’s weaknesses.
- Reward: After defeating Rude and Elena, you will obtain a Level 3 Prayer Materia from the treasure chest inside the training room, as well as the Gongaga Protorelic, which is known as the Turks’ Protorelic.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is an amazing sequel that is filled to the brim with content. It offers around seven different playable characters you can mix and match to continuously change your party over the course of the entire story. Each character can be equipped with a different Materia Setup, and you can even unlock skill cores in the new Folio upgrades.
This concludes my guide on the locations of various combat simulations that must be beaten to obtain the Gongaga Protorelic in FF7 Rebirth. I have included images of each facility’s location and mentioned the type of challenge you’ll face inside. Let me know if you’re having fun with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth in the comments below!
