The FTAC Recon is one of the best guns in Modern Warfare 2 that you unlock early on. It is a rifle for players who excel in accuracy. Although SMGs are currently popular in the game, the FTAC Recon will give you an edge over other players if you use it in the right way. Some of the best loadouts build in Modern Warfare 2 are perhaps of the FTAC Recon, which will allow you to literally two-shot your enemies.
- FTAC Recon is a high-damage battle rifle with 10 bullets per magazine.
- Although it is difficult to use due to high recoil, having the right attachments will allow you to take down enemies easily.
- You should be using FTAC Recon in medium to long-range fights. For close-range fights, you can use X13 Auto or Lachmann Sub.
- To unlock FTAC Recon, you will need to upgrade the M4 to level 13.
Why Use FTAC Recon in COD MW2The weapon comes with a high damage per bullet, and so there is a high recoil as well. With COD MW2 being released recently, players are still not aware of the potential each gun possesses. Therefore, there are some weapon loadout builds that allow you to harness their true potential by giving you an overpowered weapon.
The stability and the high recoil are the reasons why FTAC Recon is difficult to use and why players are not using it much. Players who go for the spray and pray strategy fail to use this weapon, as it will completely change your direction after firing a couple of bullets.
Even though the FTAC Recon is for players with high accuracy, almost anyone can change the difficult weapon into an easy one with the best loadout build. Moreover, it is a medium-range semi-automatic weapon, so you can play safe and shoot while taking cover. If you play with a squad, you can provide them cover while they rush in.
FTAC Recon Loadout 1There are a total of five attachments that you will add to your FTAC Recon loadout build. There are three primary goals in the loadout build. They are to increase the stability of the gun, keep the recoil in control, and maximize damage. The loadout build will allow you to strafe shoot quicker and allow you room for error if the first couple of bullets does not land on point.
Since FTAC Recon has quite room for customizability, you will need these attachments for the best loadout in the game.
- Barrel: Bull Rider 16.5 Barrel
- Underbarrel: VX Pineapple
- Rear Grip: Support CP90 Grip
- Optic: Cronen Mini Red Dot
- Ammunition: .458 Overpressure +P
Advantages Of The Attachments
Firstly, for the barrel, we will be using the Bull Rider 16.5 mainly due to its ability to reduce the recoil. However, apart from giving you better recoil control, it will also increase the hip fire accuracy, bullet velocity, and damage range.
The purpose of the VX Pineapple as an underbarrel is to increase the weapon’s accuracy by controlling the gun kick control and increasing the aim of walking steadiness. Moreover, it is ideal if you use hip fire more often, as it increases the hip fire accuracy and provides hip recoil control. Similarly, the Support CP90 Grip as a rear grip will enhance the flinch resistance and aiming stability.
These two factors are arguably the best for a ten bullets weapon. However, the Support CP90 Grip will cause your movement speed to decrease slightly. But since the weapon is not really used for close ranges, it will not affect you much. For the Optic, on the other hand, you need to pick Cronen Mini Red Dot as it is simple and provides you with a clear and precise aim even while shooting.
Lastly, for the ammunition, the .458 Overpressure +P will increase the enemy flinch when you hit them. As the enemy will find it difficult to strafe or take cover due to flinching, you will not need to be highly accurate in hitting your shot. However, be careful as the enemy might decide to fight instead of fleeing due to the flinch, so make sure you do the job as soon as possible.
Class Build Of Loadout 1
The best perks and equipment that you should have in the game for the best FTAC Recon loadout are:
- Basic Perk 1: Scavenger
- Basic Perk 2: Battle Hardened
- Bonus Perk: Spotter
- Ultimate Perk: Bird’s Eye
- Secondary Weapon: X13 Auto
- Tactical Equipment: Stun Grenade
- Lethal Equipment: Drill Charge
- Field Upgrade: Trophy System
The first basic perk that you will be going with for the FTAC Recon loadout build is Scavenger. The perk will allow you to pick up extra ammunition from the bodies if you simply walk over them. It will help you, especially when you are coming across a lot of enemies and you plan to survive till the end.
The loadout’s second perk will be Battle Hardened, as it will make you less susceptible to the stun, flash, EMP, gas grenades, and shock sticks of the enemies. Since you will be shooting enemies from a stationary position, you will prefer staying in a building or somewhere with good cover.
Therefore, the enemies will try to storm in using such tactical and lethal equipment. The best way to overcome that will be, of course, with the help of Battle Hardened as a basic perk. Moreover, you need to keep your eye everywhere, and for that, you will need Spotter as the bonus perk in the FTAC Recon loadout.
The Spotter will spot field upgrades, kill streaks, and enemy equipment through the walls. Not only that, but you can also use your aim down sight to highlight such equipment for your teammates. The best thing about the Spotter is that you even hack proximity mines, trophy systems, claymores, and C4 of all your enemies.
Entering tight spots requires a lot of information. With the help of the Spotter, you can tell your teammates just what they need to know. To make it more useful, you will need to use the Bird’s Eye as an ultimate perk. The Bird’s Eye will zoom out your minimap, and so the enemies’ location will be pinged by the Radar and UAV.
Secondary WeaponThe X13 Auto will serve you well in close-range combats. Although it is a secondary weapon, it has incredible auto fire, which is capable of dealing lethal damage. It is a reliable, sturdy, and useful option, especially if you are planning to utilize all perks.
Since you will have trouble dealing with enemies within the fifteen meters range, you can instantly switch your weapon to X13 Auto, which has seventeen bullets in one magazine and take down the enemy quickly.
The tactical equipment in Modern Warfare 2 that you will use for the best FTAC Recon loadout is the Stun Grenade. Although your mission is to stay in one place and shoot, the stun grenade can come in handy when someone is rushing you.
Once the enemy is close to you, use it in order to disorient them. It will slow down their movement and aim. It will buy you enough time to either aim calmly from the FTAC Recon or switch to X13 Auto to take them down.
On the other hand, for lethal equipment, you will need the Drill Charge. In Modern Warfare 2, the Drill Charge allows you to launch grenades even through a wall. It will let you eliminate enemies without even having first-hand sight contact.
Considering that you have Spotter as a Bonus Perk, you can easily guess the position of the enemies through walls. Once you have enough information on the enemies’ movement, you will have enough confidence to launch the grenade using Drill Charge.
Lastly, for the field upgrade, we recommend you keep Trophy System. If you are in an area that is hard to reach, the enemies will use different tactics. The most comment tactic is to use grenades. So, in order to overcome it, you can simply place a trophy system that will simply nullify the grenades.
FTAC Recon Loadout 2In case you do not want to rely on your teammates for close-range fights or you want to get into the heat of the moment sometimes, then you should definitely use the overkill perk. However, if you plan to use another primary weapon, then we recommend you use the FTAC Recon totally as a medium to long-range weapon.
Therefore, the attachments that you will be using for FTAC Recon are:
- Barrel: Bull Rider 16.5”
- Laser: 1MW Laser Box
- Optic: SZ Lonewolf Optic
- Stock: Ravage-8
- Rear Grip: Xten Grip
Advantages Of The Attachments
Bull Rider 16.5” as a barrel will be great, especially for long-range. It will increase the damage range and bullet velocity and decrease the recoil. The barrel on its own will increase the weight and slow you down considerably. However, now that you will also be getting into close-range fights, you need to make sure your mobility does not compromise.
Therefore, in order to increase mobility after equipping Bull Rider 16.5”, you will need to equip Ravage-8 as stock, Xten as rear grip, and 1MW Laser Box as a laser. Not only will it increase your movement speed, but it will also increase your aim down sight speed.
Lastly, for optics, we prefer you use the SZ Lonewolf Optic, as it will help you distinguish between brown and green palettes at longer distances.
Class Build Of Loadout 2
The best perks and equipment that you should have in Modern Warfare 2 for the best FTAC Recon loadout are:
- Basic Perk 1: Overkill
- Basic Perk 2: Double Time
- Bonus Perk: Fast Hands
- Ultimate Perk: Bird’s Eye
- Second Primary Weapon: Lachmann Subb
- Tactical Equipment: Thermite Grenade
- Lethal Equipment: Stim Shot
- Field Upgrade: Trophy System
The first basic perk, Overkill, will allow you to equip a second primary weapon. So, you can take on fights even at close range. The second basic perk, Double Time, will allow you to move at maximum speed for a longer duration. It will do so by providing you with an extended tactical sprint time. So, you can rush into buildings and change floors and rooms at a good speed.
Since you have two primary weapons, you will switch them more often. Therefore, Fast Hands, as a bonus perk, will allow you to switch weapons at a faster rate. With fast hands as a bonus perk, you will be able to cover short-range and medium-range simultaneously, especially if you are in an open field.
Lastly, for the ultimate perk, you will need Bird’s Eye. It will extend the minimap range and use UAV to track the enemies as soon as they move.
Second Primary WeaponThe second primary weapon in the best FTAC Recon loadout will be the Lachmann Sub of Modern Warfare 2. The purpose of the second primary weapon is to take on fights at close-range. However, make sure that you are using a loadout targeted especially for close-range fights. An ideal loadout of Lachmann Subb aligning with these strategies will have:
- Underbarrel: Lockgrip Precision 40
- Barrel: FTAC M-Sub 12″
- Optic: Cronen Mini Red Dot
- Muzzle: SA Schalldampfer 99
- Stock: None
For the underbarrel, you should be going with the Lockgrip Precision 40. Standing and shooting is not enough in Modern Warfare 2. You will be using hip-fire more than you think. Therefore, using Lockgrip Precision 40 will be a good option as it will increase your control and hip fire.
The FTAC M-Sub 12” is also best for increasing your damage range. The Cronen Mini Red Dot as an optic will make your aim as simple as it gets. The optic does not zoom in too much, which allows you to see clearly and better than compared to a simple iron sight.
For the muzzle, you will need to pick SA Schalldampfer 99 as it will keep the sound of your shots low while keeping the pesky recoil to a minimum. You require as much speed as possible in close-range fights. Therefore, you will have to remove the stock to make sure it does not compromise your speed.
Although you will be engaging a lot more in fights, your end-game aim should be to camp in a safe place and use the Lachmann Sub as little as possible. In those situations, the enemies will be closing in much more, and to defend yourself, you will need a Thermite Grenade in tactical equipment.
The thermite grenade will make less room for enemies. Moreover, if you get hit in the fight, you can easily get yourself back to maximum health. That is possible by using the Stim Shot, which will be your lethal equipment in the FTAC Recon Loadout 2.
Unlocking FTAC Recon & Attachments
If you thought that the FTAC Recon is too good to be true, then you were looking for a fault. However, the only bad thing you can find about it is that you will not be able to use it from the start of the game. The gun needs to be unlocked. There is a new method of unlocking weapons in Modern Warfare 2, which demands you to upgrade different weapons depending on the platform.
In order to unlock the FTAC Recon in Modern Warfare 2, you will need to perhaps check the M4 platform. Meaning, either you will have to upgrade the M4 or another weapon in its platform. Once you get your M4 to level 13, the FTAC Recon will be ready to use.
Players in Warzone complained about weapons having a limited amount of attachments. Call of Duty brought changes accordingly and introduced more attachments that can be used on different weapons. However, these attachments also don’t come since the inception of the game; you need to grind your way through to unlock them.
Moreover, to unlock all the attachments in Modern Warfare 2, you should not focus on upgrading FTAC Recon or M4 only. The weapons in Modern Warfare 2 act as a receiver and so you can use attachments of different weapons too. So, to get the other attachments you will need to upgrade them as well.
An attachment like Bull Rider 16.5 Barrel can be unlocked by simply reaching level 22 of the FTAC Recon. The VX Pineapple can be unlocked by upgrading the 556 Icarus LMG Receiver to level 15. To unlock the 556 Icarus LMG Receiver, you will need to reach Level 18 of M4. Similarly to that, the Cronen Mini Red Dot requires level 3 of the FSS Hurricane for unlocking.
All in all, these are the best loadouts for FTAC Recon that you can use in Modern Warfare 2 for almost any range. Unlocking the weapon will not take much time, even if you are entirely new to the game. All you need to do is gather your friends and have a long gaming session that lasts for around four hours. After that, you will finally be using these best loadouts.
