Players often don’t know how to select Starfield’s assign weapon to group while building their ships. That is mainly due to the fact that Starfield’s UI is quite complicated. Players get confused when performing simple tasks in the UI.
- The ‘Unassigned Weapons’ error in Starfield occurs when players have not assigned weapons to their slots.
- Weapons can be assigned to Groups in the Weapons section in Flightcheck.
- One type of Weapon in Starfield can only be allocated in one slot only.
- Assign weapons until the ‘1 ERROR‘ turns to ‘NOMINAL.’
What Is “Assigning Weapon To Group” In Starfield
The Weapon’s assign issue arises when you get the error ‘Unassigned Weapon: Ship has weapons that must be assigned to a group.’ Due to that, players can’t finalize their ships and go on journeys.
Although it isn’t a major problem that will have you spend hours solving, it can be tough to find. And that is only because the UI of Starfield can be a little complicated for players.

Solving The Error
To solve the Starfield Assign Weapon to Group issue, here’s what you need to do:
- Open the Shipbuilding menu.
- Go to the FlightCheck menu by pressing C.
- Now, by pressing T on the Keyboard or RB on the controller, open the Weapons section in the top right corner.
- When in the Weapons section, you can allocate each of the weapons in one of the available Weapons Group Slot.
Remember one thing when assigning weapons: For each slot of weapons, you can only assign one weapon type. When all of the weapons are assigned, you will get a message on the bottom of the table saying ‘Nominal.’ That will mean that weapons are successfully assigned. Now, you can save your ship and start using it on your Journeys.
