Most of the Zealot weapons in Warhammer 40K Darktide that you will use in conjunction with abilities come down to fast-hitting as well as high damage-dealing capabilities. These weapons are categorized from the Primary Melee weapons to the Secondary Ranged artillery, which can all prove beneficial during the horde slaying heat.
Key Highlights
- The Zealot Preacher class in Warhammer 40K Darktide has a variety of different weapons.
- Both the primary and secondary weapons have varying stats and qualities but in this class, you will mainly use the former.
- A few of the best melee weapons players will love to use include the Chainaxe and Eviscerator.
- Most weapons can be purchased at the Armory Exchange which tends to rotate in stock at random times.
Zealot Preacher Melee Weapons
The Zealot Preacher class in Warhammer 40K Darktide features a wide roster of weapons to use in combat, each having drastically different stats than the other. It is important to note that most of these weapons unlock at specific character levels and since the in-game shop tends to have randomly rotating items in its stock, they may not be available for you to purchase at certain times.
Each of the weapons here can greatly affect your playstyles such as the Axe-type weapon offering fantastic damage against Armored Elites or even the machete-like Catachans which can help you destroy a horde of enemies in an instant.
The weapons may also feature different rarity tiers too but rest assured, you will only be able to access most of them at a required level, only then you can head back to the Armory Exchange in order to acquire them.
Rashad MK II Combat Axe

The Rashad MK2 Combat Axe is your starting weapon in the game, and as shown in the image above, you are able to receive different tier versions of it as well as upgrade it too. The weapon is available to you right from the beginning of the game during Level 1.
It has fantastic quick strikes with its light attacks and with the heavy attacks, you can hammer it on enemies in a two-handed style, making it brutal against tougher opponents. Not to mention the special weapon attack allows you to dish out high-impact damage against armored foes.
Catachan Devil Claw MK 1

The Catachan Devil Claw MK1 is one of the many sword-like weapons for this class that allows you to dish out a flurry of slashes at the enemies. You are able to acquire this weapon when you reach character level 2.
It feels satisfying with how fast this weapon is able to clear a horde of enemies while still having weight to the attacks and if you can roll a Blessing on it such as Rampage, then this blade can help you clear through the early level content with ease as it tears through multiple enemies. Furthermore, the Parry special attack of this weapon allows you to deflect incoming attacks and counterattack them.
Catachan MK III Combat Blade

As shown in the image above, the Catachan MK III Combat Blade functions like any dagger you’d expect, but the only real difference is that it can pack a punch with some of the best blessing combinations and perks. While it does look cool to slash away at enemies using, the heavier attacks allow you to do quite literally stab enemies.
It may not look as appealing as some of the other weapons in this but since it unlocks at Level 3, it can be a decent weapon to mess around with, especially if you’re playing with friends. The Punch special attack allows you to start a combo with a low-damage strike to the enemy, but the benefit is that it ignores any incoming stagger
Antax MK V Combat Axe

The Antax MK V Combat Axe is another axe-type weapon but can be used as a superior version on your starting one for the Zealot Preacher class in Warhammer 40K Darktide. The heavy attacks as stated previously, almost are like a lumberjack on a wild work spree but instead of chopping wood, you can use it to crush the brains and splatter the guts of the enemies. This weapon is also unlocked at character level 3 in the game.
Turtoisky MK VI Heavy Sword

As shown in the image above, the Turtoisky MK VI Heavy Sword at first glance almost reminds you of a Scimitar. The weapon is said to be originally created for the Vostroyan Firstborn. The Turtolsky heavy sword became a popular choice for both the Navy Crews and the Rogue Traders too.
The armor penetration damage on the weapons is average but if you’re looking to easily shred through the hordes of enemies while having a decent weapon then look no better option than this armament. The weapon is unlocked for use once you reach level 4.
Achlys MK VIII Combat Axe

The Achlys MK VIII Combat Axe is unlocked for use at character level 6 and functions as any other axe in the game but if you are already using your previous axe-type artillery and if they have better stats then there is no reason to switch here. Unless the Achlys MK VIII Combat Axe offers better stats and perks, then feel free to swap to it whenever you see fit.
Catachan MK IV “Devil’s Claw” Sword

The Catachan Devil Claw MK IV is unique from the other weapons as the in-game description and lore of the armament states that it is “Named after the Catachan Devil, a fearsome predator from the Catachan jungles, this massive blade is the most prized weapon of the eponymous regiment.”
The weapon unlocks at character level 8 and just like the other swords, is a fantastic crowd-control weapon but again, be careful as using it against single-target enemies can be a bit annoying.
Catachan MK VII “Devil’s Claw” Sword

The weapon is relatively identical to the previous one we just discussed but the key difference is that you can unlock the following version as shown in the image above at character level 12 for the Zealot Preacher. Furthermore, the weapon also has a distinctive light and heavy attack chain to make it unique to use in comparison to the former versions of it.
Cadia MK IV Assault Chainsword

There isn’t a better feeling than revving up the Chainsword to unleash and kill anything in its path by mowing them down with its merciless fury. We were able to receive the weapon with traits such as Savage Sweep and Bloodletter which can significantly improve its performance of it during battle. The weapon wasn’t our particular favorite but if you can get used to its unique play style then it’s really fun to use during missions.
You can unlock the weapon around Character Level 13 but depending on your luck as we stated at the start of the guide, you may be able to receive it earlier or later from the armory exchange. Lastly, the special attack allows you to rev up the chainsword to unleash a powerful blow on the enemy.
Tigrus MK II Heavy Eviscerator

As shown in the image above, the Tigrus MK II Heavy Eviscerator is another chainsword but with a different light and heavy combo set that can help you decimate the health bar of elite enemies with relative ease. The weapon can be unlocked at Level 15 but according to a few other player feedbacks, you may have to wait until level 18 too which is again, all based on your chances with the armory exchange’s stock.
Orestas MK IV Assault Chainaxe

The Orestas MK IV Assault Chainaxe is easily one of our favorite weapons to use with the Zealot Preacher class in the game as it offers excellent burst damage on both its light and heavy attacks. It is unlocked around the Level 20 range but it is worth the wait as, like the other chainsaw-type weapons, you can use the Activate weapon skill to charge up the weapon to dish out powerful attacks that armored elites won’t even stand a chance.
Crucis MK II Thunder Hammer

Lastly, the Crucis MK II Thunder Hammer as shown in the image above is unlocked around Level 25 but there are chances it can be delayed since you will also unlock other unique and special items at the in-game shop. It is also the same point in the game where you can unlock special weapons for other classes too such as Psyker’s Flame Staff. The weapon has Crowd Control by default, making it that much more strong against hordes of enemies.
Furthermore, you can charge up the weapon with lightning to dish out attacks which can quite literally obliterate anything that gets hit with the attack. It is the weapon we recommend testing for your build and if you get your hands on traits such as Slaughterer, then this melee armament can easily become an overpowered beast.
The Ranged Weapons
The Zealot Preacher Ranged weapons tend to be mainly used if you’re looking to squeeze in extra damage at enemies from afar but since you are a class that is focused primarily on Melee Playstyle, you should only these weapons under circumstances where you aren’t able to attack at close range.
However, if you are looking for the best close-range guns for the class then using a weapon such as the Purgation Flamer will be the way to go as there is never a better feeling than burning hordes alive.
Most of these weapons are the same for other classes but if your play style is focused on mid-to-long-range then the Spearhead Boltgun will do you wonders, unlocking at the higher levels. The ranged weapons for the Zealot Preacher include the following:
- Level 1: Lus MK III Shredder Autopistol (Starter Weapon)
- Level 2: Kantrael MG la infantry lasgun
- Level 2: Columnus Braced Autogun
- Level 3: Accatran MG MK II Heavy Laspistol
- Level 6: Kantrael MG IV Infantry Lasgun
- Level 6: Agripinaa MK I Infantry Autogun
- Level 8: Columnus MK V Autogun
- Level 9: Lawbringer Mark VI Combat Shotgun
- Level 10: Vraaks MK III Headhunter Autogun
- Level 12: Zarona Mark Quickdraw Stub Revolver
- Level 13: Artemia MK III Purgation Flamer (May unlock later or earlier depending on armory exchange luck)
- Level 20: Locke MK IIB Spearhead Boltgun
The Wrap-Up
It is worth noting that according to a recent Darktide Subreddit Post, players are able to acquire late-game Zealot Preacher weapons such as the Crucis MK II Thunder Hammer at earlier points too which is as at level 17 or even around level 20. So whether it’s any of the latter-level weapons we have listed in both melee and ranged, you should check the shop at every interval of the game to see what’s available for you to purchase.
