Getting New Gear

Gear is split into different categories and has its own unique benefits. Each weapon unlocks at a specific trust level but to keep it up to date, it must be upgraded through the crafting system and various other ways in Warhammer 40K Darktide.

A way to upgrade your gear in Warhammer 40K Darktide is to just get better gear. Whenever your character levels up, you can purchase a weapon close to your level from the in-game shop using the in-game currency known as “Ordo Dockets.” You can purchase everything from armor, and weapons to “Curios.”

Curios are equipable items that grant you various benefits. These items are crucial for survival in the game’s brutal missions as they give various health and damage boosts. These can also be obtained from the special store that is reset after 1 day or by completing missions however, getting them can be very grindy.

Sire Melk’s Requisitorium

Acquiring Gear Via Crafting System 

The Crafting system in Warhammer 40K Darktide works differently from what you might be thinking. It is the definitive way of upgrading your gear. While on your missions, you will acquire two important materials. These are Diamantine and Platsteel. Make sure you are stocked up on these so you can use them for crafting.

If you want to start crafting, go to the main hub. While there, make your way to the Shrine of Omnissiah and talk to Hadron Omega-7-7. Hadron Omega-7-7 is an NPC who can perform one of many important actions called Consecration for you.

Consecration

Consecration is currently the most important part of the crafting system in Warhammer 40K Darktide. It allows you to upgrade your weapons by granting them different benefits and increasing their rarity. When you consecrate them, their rarity increases by one level.

You need a large quantity of the materials Diamantine and Platsteel to be able to consecrate your weapons. The effects on rarity are as follows:

• White to Green Rarity: 150 Plasteel required.
• Green to Blue Rarity: 200 Plasteel and 50 Diamantine required.
• Blue to Purple Rarity: 400 Plasteel and 150 Diamantine required.

In exchange, however, you will gain a Votive Offering, which is a “Perk” that can be slotted on another weapon. You can combine 3 Votive Offerings to make a mightier Votive via Combine Blessings. There are some exceptions but, most of the Offerings are capped at tier 4.

Sometimes on weapons, there can be blessings that you dislike or simply are not very useful. To combat this issue, you can use a Votive Offering to attach a blessing of your own choosing via Re-Bless. Keep in mind; however, the new blessing is permanent, and the old one will be lost forever. Make sure the new blessing you attach is the right one for you, or your weapon will be sub-par while you also lose 1 Votive Offering.

If you dislike the permanent consequence of Re-Bless, you can opt for Refine Item instead. This allows you to remove a blessing attached to a weapon for a new one. The new blessing will always be determined by RNG( Random Number Generator). There is another problem with this option, the more you use it, the more expensive it gets.

As of right now in the current patch, only Consecration is available in the game. Options related to Blessings will be unlocked very soon with a patch, as confirmed by the developers.
