Key Takeaways

  • They are clad in armor and use various weapons, such as chainsaws, guns, rifles, and shotguns.
  • Scab enemies are divided into hordes, specialists, elites, and monstrosities.
  • Elites and monstrosities can be taken down through aggro management and strategy, such as ranged attacks.

How To Defeat Scab Enemies

Scab enemies are a heavily armored and dangerous enemy type in Warhammer 40K Darktide. It is important to know all about them so that they can be countered amidst the heat of battle.

The elites in scab enemies are incredibly powerful, and players should learn all about them to fight them efficiently. The different Scab Enemies and their variants in Warhammer 40K Darktide are the following.

Scab Shooter

Scab Shooter uses his gun to attack enemies from afar. He is also a horde-type enemy. The scab shooter usually groups with fellow shooters or Scab Gunners. His weak spot is his head. A direct attack to his head will 1 shot him. Rend attacks that go through armor are also effective. Scab Shooters will also switch to melee attacks at close range.

Scab Stalker

The Scab Stalker uses his gun to attack your team from a safe distance. When approached, the Scab Stalker will switch to a sword to combat you. He is a horde-type enemy. Keep in mind not to let this enemy group up with other hordes. Otherwise, it will get very chaotic for you.

This enemy wears a helmet, but a part of his face is still uncovered, so make sure you attack him there to kill him quickly. Rend attacks that bypass armor protection are also a solid choice.

Scab Bruiser

Scab Bruiser is a horde-type enemy that specializes in melee attacks. He will always show up in hordes to try to overwhelm you. We recommend AoE (Area of Effect) actions to crowd-control this enemy. His head is completely uncovered, so that is his weak spot. A good hit to his head will always end him fast.

Scab Gunner

As the name implies, Scab Gunner uses a machine gun to attack you from a distance. He is a specialist type of enemy. It can be overwhelming if the scab gunner manages to group up with other scab gunners. His weak spot is his head. A direct attack on his head will instantly kill him. Rend attacks that go through armor are also effective.

Scab Flamer

Scab Flamer is a specialist type of enemy that uses a flame thrower to inflict AoE (Area of Effect) damage onto the player’s team. This flame can negate your “Toughness” stat and make you vulnerable to stagger and other dangerous effects, so caution is advised. Their weak spot is the head, so make sure you always hit their heads to inflict the maximum damage.

Scab Shotgunner

Scab Shotgunner is a specialist type of enemy who relies on the shotgun to inflict heavy damage at close range. The shotgun will quickly melt your toughness, making you susceptible to stagger and other bad effects. The shotgun also does massive damage, so it is important to take them down as fast as possible. Their weak spot is the uncovered part of their face.

Scab Trapper

Scab Trapper uses nets to trap the player and make them unable to move. It is a specialist-type enemy. The net does damage over time and makes the player get overwhelmed by other hordes, as they cannot fight back while trapped. This net can also be dodged, so make sure you avoid it every time. An attack on their heads will instantly kill them, so make sure you direct your onslaught toward their heads.

Scab Sniper

Using a sniper rifle, Scab snipers will prioritize staying a long distance away from you to pick you off. They will always run off and retreat if they are close to you. The sniper is capable of doing lethal damage, being able to 1 shot or 2 shots with ease. We recommend a Psyker or Sharpshooter to kill these enemies as soon as possible. Closing in the distance using cover and protection is also a viable choice.

Scab Mauler

Scab Maulers are an elite-type enemy. It is an elite enemy cut above the other scab enemies. They wield a chainsaw blade and are heavily armored. Thanks to their heavy armor, they boast incredible health points. While they are slow, they make up for it with their insanely high damage output, as they are able to melt your health bar with ease if you get careless.

They are wearing a strong and sturdy helmet, so headshots are pointless. We recommend using “Rend” attacks to bypass their strong protection while one of your teammates distracts this slow enemy.

Scab Rager

Scab Rager is a heavily armored, dual-wielding, elite-type enemy. It is incredibly aggressive and resistant to staggers. Approaching this enemy at close range is very dangerous as it can effortlessly kill you with its lethal attacks. We recommend Psykers or Sharpshooters take this enemy down using their ranged attacks from a safe distance away, as it ensures they do not have to engage this enemy in close-quarters combat.

Scab Captain

Scab Captain is a monstrosity-type enemy. It is a boss enemy that typically appears at the end of certain missions. Like his brethren, he is clad in dark, strong, and spiky armor. His choice of weapon is a spiked mace, and he has a barrier to defend himself against your onslaught.

Scab Captain’s attacks are incredibly telegraphed and easy to dodge. So make sure you avoid them every time while your teammates chip away at his health and kill him quickly to finish the mission.
