Alan Wake is one of Remedy Entertainment’s finest creations to date. Despite being outclassed by modern-day consoles, the plot and gameplay of this action-adventure thriller are still capable of putting gamers on the edge of their seats. The game came out back in 2010, 3 years before the release of the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. Ever since then, the hardworking studio has been busy making the likes of Quantum Break and Control. However, word has been scant on an Alan Wake sequel, except for a couple of rumors suggesting a being follow-up in the works.
While that is another story, Reddit user AsleepEntrepreneur has managed to spot an Epic Games Store database leak that clearly indicates the listing of Alan Wake Remastered. Take a look at this scene yourself below.
You can check out the directories on Epic Data by going to this link. Scroll down a bit to find the customAttributes folder, and expand it to find the CloudSaveFolder. There, “{UserDir}/Remedy/AlanWakeRemastered/” is written next to “value.” Alan Wake Remastered is disguised as “HeronStaging” although we’re not sure why.
Gamesindustry.biz interviewed Remedy Entertainment’s CEO Tero Virtala who said that two games are currently being developed at the studio, one being a AAA title, and the other being relatively small-scale. It’s only speculation from here on out, but it could be that an Alan Wake sequel is making headway while the other game is this foretold remaster.
