Antonball Deluxe came out last year on PC and the Nintendo Switch and was a very popular indie game. It gave players a Super Mario-inspired platformer which was very fun and aesthetically pleasing. Summitsphere actually made it as a remake of its game jam title and released it for the handheld.
The game got a lot of positive reception and carried the Nintendo Switch platform genre in a year with dry first-party titles. Making a sequel as an indie game developer is always very tough. However, players will be glad to know that Antonball is getting a second game.
ANTONBLAST, the sequel to Antonball, is officially coming to the Nintendo Switch and PC from the developer of the first game. Summitsphere has set up a Kickstarter page for the sequel with an announcement trailer to go along. Players can view the trailer on the page, along with some footage from this upcoming indie platformer.

The developer has also made a demo of the game available for players to play. It’s available on the Kickstarter page and players can download it for free to check out ANTONBLAST. Summitsphere wants to collect $75,000 for this sequel and it’s already making good headway in this pursuit. Almost $19,000 have already been donated to the developer for this sequel and this number is increasing by the second.
The trailer for the platformer also seems very promising and pleasing. Its aesthetic setting is one of its best features, as it depicts the Wario Land-inspired art style very well. The developer also took inspiration from Cuphead and Game Boy Advance graphics, so it’s no surprise that it’s so visually pleasing.
As of now, Antonblast is only releasing on the Nintendo Switch and PC, but Summitsphere plans to release it on PlayStation and Xbox consoles as well. All in all, the game seems like a very amusing sequel to the original and one that ever player would want to play.
