Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is being eyed by millions of aspiring Dragon Ball fans across the world, and for good reason. The game not only looks next-gen but feels next-gen as well, thanks to a new trailer that the developer has pushed out in recent times, showcasing the ultimate rivalry in terrific fashion between the two Dragon Ball greats, Goku and Vegeta.
Taking a look at this 2-minute footage alone, fans and players are over the moon at how good this continuation of the Dragon Ball: Budokai Tenkaichi franchise seems to be. The trailer highlights numerous forms of both Goku and Vegeta, as they begin fighting from their base form and go all the way up to Super Saiyan Blue, crossing an array of their respective forms in between.
I was also able to nick a screenshot of what appears to be the game’s full roster, which pops up right at the very end of the trailer for a brief moment. Although the vast majority of the character tiles are currently empty—for obvious reasons, of course—there’s no doubting how gigantic the whole catalog looks. Players will be choosing between 164 characters, though I’m not sure how many of them will be variations of the same figure.
That is to say, Bandai Namco just pushed out a post in recent times, detailing the first 24 characters of Sparking Zero, but there’s a twist to factor into account here. All 24 of those are just different variations of Goku and Vegeta à la Goku (Z – Mid), Super Saiyan, Goku (Super), Super Saiyan God; Vegeta (Super), Super Saiyan, and Vegeta (Super), Super Saiyan God.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero does not have a concrete release date at the moment, but a safe guess is to expect the game to come out later in 2024. It’s supposed to be released on the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, and from what we know so far, there could be no local versus playability in the game, as disappointing as that sounds.
