More information on Dragon’s Dogma 2 has finally come out in the open, as Capcom held a dedicated showcase for the forthcoming RPG today. We now have a concrete release date for the title, in harmony with the leak earlier, and a wealth of details regarding in-game content. Moreover, the devs have announced its two different editions — Standard and Deluxe — with both of them going live for pre-order.
First up, it’s the Standard Edition of Dragon’s Dogma 2 that comprises the base game, and the Superior Weapons Quartet pre-order bonus, which is basically one extra weapon for each of the in-game classes to start you off right. On the other hand, the Deluxe Edition has all that the Standard variant has and then some, meaning that it comes with an entire host of added goodies for players to partake in:
- Explorer’s Camping Kit
- 1500 Rift Crystals
- Dragon’s Dogma Music and Sound Collection
- Wake Stone
- Art of Metamorphosis
- Harpysnare Smoke Beacons
- Heartfelt Pendant
- Makeshift Gaol Key
- Ambivalent Rift Incense
- Ring of Assurance
If you’re after more details, check out this recent press release of Dragon’s Dogma 2 on the PlayStation blog, where a deep dive into the title’s classes, monsters, and other characters is offered. It’s all coming together after a long, arduous wait from the looks of it, and the director Hideaki Itsuno can’t be more passionate about the RPG.
Dragon’s Dogma is a game that I dreamed of playing as a boy who loved TRPG-based games and action games, and I have a special attachment to it. Dragon’s Dogma 2 incorporates ideas that were not technically feasible at the time we created the first game. I believe this game will let you experience the fantasy world you’ve always dreamed of, a fantasy world action simulator game, and ultimately be the ultimate Dragon’s Dogma,” says Itsuno.
He adds, “The entire team is working hard on the final touches of the game. Whether you’ve played the first game or not, we hope you’ll enjoy your adventure in this open fantasy world.”

It bears mentioning that Dragon’s Dogma 2 is Capcom’s first game to release this generation that comes with a $69.99 price tag. In retrospect, the Japanese developer has launched the likes of the Resident Evil 4 remake, Street Fighter 6, and Exoprimal this year, but none of them fell in this elevated price bracket. In any case, though, whether Dragon’s Dogma 2 or another, this was bound to happen, considering the gaming industry’s new pricing schemes.
The RPG will be released on March 22, 2024, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with no cross-gen support. Although the project has been in the mind of Hideaki Itsuno for as long as one can remember, Dragon’s Dogma 2 was formally announced for the first time in 2022 on the occasion of the franchise’s 10-year anniversary.
