Unfortunately, the dev declined to give a concrete answer on the current state of Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate. Overall, the new update has helped to finally appease the fans who have been waiting to hear more about the entry.

The details regarding the exhilarating Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D remake have stayed well hidden ever since it was revealed a few years ago. December 2022 was the last time we heard something about the title when the series creator claimed that news was potentially coming soon —which did not happen.
Things have finally shifted a little, and we have an update on the development of the remake. It was initially announced in May 2021 during Dragon Quest’s 35th anniversary livestream alongside the Dragon Quest 12 entry.
The Dragon Quest 12 is being brewed right in Unreal Engine 5 and is directed by Takeshi Uchikawa. We may hear more details in the near future from Square Enix as both the remake and the Dragon Quest 12 title spend more time in development.
