Final Fantasy 16 Producer Hints At Trailer And Release Date News

More Final Fantasy XVI news is slated for next month.

Final Fantasy 16 is the next upcoming mainline installment in the highly-popular Final Fantasy franchise. Like the previous game, Final Fantasy XVI will feature real-time combat to keep up with its new planned direction. The title features an unexplored world with an immersive story and a new roster of characters.

The development of Final Fantasy 16 has mostly remained shrouded, despite particulars about the story being revealed. However, we know that the expected release falls somewhere around Summer 2023. After a long waiting period, the producer, Naoki Yoshida, has confirmed more details at Tokyo Game Show 2022.

Major Takeaway:

  • Final Fantasy 16’s game producer, Yoshida, confirmed that a new teaser trailer is planned for next month.
  • Details about the release date will also follow after the supposed teaser trailer (likely not next month).

Final Fantasy 16 was a nominee for Japan Game Show’s future division award, and Naoki Yoshida appeared on the stage to receive an award on behalf of Square Enix. During his stay on the stage, Yoshida also answered some much-needed questions regarding the intriguing Final Fantasy XVI.

Naoki thanked the audience and showed gratitude after receiving the award. The producer had initially disclosed in an interview back in June that more information would be revealed concerning Final Fantasy 16 in fall 2022; when questioned about the lack of info, Yoshida replied with the following:

I have not found an opportunity to discuss with the marketing or public relations teams at all, so I’m unsure how much information I’m allowed to unveil, but I think we will probably manage to release the next trailer next month or so… And after that, I wish to try to give a crude idea of when the game will be released.

In other good news, Final Fantasy 16’s arrival does not appear too far on the horizon. The title is reportedly in the “final stretch” of development. We can expect the upcoming RPG to release during or before the scheduled period.

Moreover, the testing of FFXVI seems to be going smoothly; it was critically acclaimed by beta testers. The testers called the beta an amalgamation of unending action. Adjustments are also being made reportedly for players, not into action titles.

The game is slating towards an exponentially dark tone and appears to be targeting the mature rating. Final Fantasy 16 explores the land of  Valisthea, the world that is “studded with Mothercrystals.” People seek these glittering mountains of crystals for blessings and benefits to living comfortable and prosperous lives.

However, the peace is shaken by the spread of a new disease called the Blight. Dangerous beasts known as Eikons live among humans. Each Eikon dwells within a single man or woman bestowed with the skill to call upon them.

These people are known as Dominants. Each nation treats Dominants differently; some countries treat them like royalties, while others use them as weapons of mass destruction in wars. The lore of Final Fantasy XVI is very inviting; new players will find it just as enjoyable.
