Gundam Evolution Has Been Rated In South Korea

The committee decided to classify it as "for 12 years old."

The chronicles of the Gundam Franchise began in 1979 and gave birth to a whole new genre of entertainment. The franchise features giant robots, or mecha, called mobile suits, and it defined a “real robot” sub-genre of mecha anime and has inspired all sorts of anime, movies, and new franchises, among many others.

The influence of Gundam has also trickled into the gaming sphere over time. Gundam franchise is responsible for over 80 video games for arcade, PC, and console platforms, some featuring characters not found in other Gundam media. Some of the games, in return, inspired their own mangas and novels, and the franchise has grown through gaming.

Most of the Gundam games were only released in Japan, halting the international audience from enjoying the Gundam franchise through the video games media. However, the times have changed, and a new, fast-paced, in-depth team-based FPS experience, Gundam Evolution, is slating closer to an official release.

Gundam Evolution is planned for a 2022 release. The actual release date has not been announced yet, but the recent event suggests that an official announcement may be coming soon. Gundam Evolution has been rated in South Korea by the “Game Contents Classification Committee.

The game is also confirmed to contain “expressions of mild violence (expression of attack and attack using laser, rifle, melee weapons, etc.).” Gundam Evolution was finally classified as ‘for 12 years old‘ according to “Article 21 of the Game Industry Promotion Act and Article 7 No. 2 of the Classification Regulations” after the board considered the mild violence.

The rating does not reveal a lot of details, but the games being rated by boards suggest that a significant part of development is finished, and a release date is close to being announced by the developers. The game may get rated in more regions in the coming days. We can expect to receive an official announcement by Bandai Namco in the coming weeks.

If you are unfamiliar, Gundam Evolution is an online free-to-play FPS game in which players take control of Mobile Suits from the hit Gundam anime and are pitted against other players in 6v6 objective-based high-octane battles. Each suit has pros and cons, some highly defensive and others featuring good offense. Cooperate with players to secure victory and dash around the map to avoid being hit in this fast-paced FPS.
