On average, players spent a whopping 110 hours on the RPG, beating out Game of the Year Baldur’s Gate 3, which ended up at the second spot with 105 hours spent on average to finish it. If you only focus on the main objectives and ignore the open world of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, it will still take you up to 55 hours to finish the game. On the other hand, if you want to complete every activity in the RPG you might need a whopping 236 hours. Hence, the average number is meager compared to the actual content in the Nintendo Switch exclusive.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is no different from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, with players who just want to finish the main story needing at least 75 hours to do so but a massive 200 hours can be spent exploring the detailed RPG due to the amount of content in it.

Another Action RPG follows at No.7 with Hogwarts Legacy players spending 46 hours in the RPG on average despite its main story only taking about 26 hours. Diablo IV slides comfortably in at No.8 with a 41-hour playthrough time. The average might seem like a bit of a letdown as you can spend a whopping 166 hours in the RPG, but it seems like the Blizzard game didn’t manage to keep its audience.
Two action RPGs, Lies of P and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty close out this list at No.9 and No. 10 with average playtimes of 37 hours and 35 hours, respectively. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which launched for the Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023, takes the crown of the longest 2023 game. Our review of the RPG rated it 4.5/5 with Moiz Banoori calling it an almost perfect game.
