The indie co-op horror title, Lethal Company, has reached a new milestone with over 240,000 players in the last 22 hours, breaking its previous all-time peak record of 180,000 players. The accomplishment comes just over a month after its launch, with a gargantuan 191,945 users currently in-game according to SteamDB statistics.
Lethal Company is a survival adventure centered around scavenging for scrap, created by a single developer Zeekerss. It has garnered an overwhelmingly positive reception following its launch with a staggering 106,570 user reviews on Steam. A whopping 98% of those reviews are in favor of the indie title, with players praising the gameplay loop among various other aspects.
Just last week, the game managed to gather 180,000 concurrent players, managing to break its then-previous record of 115,000 in addition to being a top seller on the platform. Fast forward to today and it’s soared well beyond 200,000 users. Whether infinite growth is impossible, the title appears to be sticking to this path for now. However, its accomplishment speaks volumes about certain things in the modern gaming industry.
